Need input/ideas on how/where to put a Go Pro Mount?

Ok another Rookie question.
I would like to mount my go pro on the front of the bike, so far I haven’t seen anything other than a handlebar mount. I prefer not to mount it behind the windscreen.
I would appreciate any input on this or links to the mount.

South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Iowa area? That means lots of bugs and pests which means lots of splatters any time of the year. Mine is mounted behind the windshield for that reason. I have riden tens of thousands out there and this summer was one of the worst we ever had. We put 11500 miles in one trip out there this summer on the spyder and my grills, front frunk and shield was cleaned out every night. Also you can see if it’s turned on, recording setting and if battery starts to die. Just my opinion. I use a spyder bar mounted to the dash with a 1” ram ball, medium arm and GoPro max. If you’re looking at exterior I would contact Martin. He has some pretty good action videos from all angles. Watch his videos and then contact him as in how he mounted them.

I’m leaning toward mounting it behind the windscreen since it seems no one makes one for the front. I could make one myself but since I’m not the big picture taker other people are it just wouldn’t be worth the time.

GoPro makes a suction cup design many others have used. Google search “GoPro mounts spyderlovers” I did try it on my snowmobile and SXS and it did work but I personally like the square clamp and rod setup for those 2 now. Depending on your model, it’s not listed, might want to make that as part of your signature, you can use the clamp and hook it to the passenger hand grips, use an extended poll and bring it up behind you. Last you can take the 3M MOUNT, stick it inside you grill and mount to that. You could also use the clamp and if you have the sidguard/ bump skid guard, you can clamp that to the ledge with an arm or to your A-arm/ shock area. Just remember anything connected that low is apt to get hit by road bumps. You only have 4-5 inches at top.

Look at this mount

fat gecko dual-suction camera mount. Check out tackform too!

I know there’s a gentleman called rapidcity on this forum that used it a while back. I used it on my sled but again found a better option for sleds.

Have seen mounted small gap inbetween headlights & windshield older model RT I think. Believe read some a-arm mount for different views sorry don’t know type of mount guessing flat sticky back Type. Good luck

**saw some good 360 view vids cam was mounted top of helmet:firstplace:**

Personally, I think I would prefer for a single camera, a left side view; for two cameras, a front and left view. I have been run off the road too many times to remember on bikes. And in less than a week of riding my Spyder I was run off the road by a semi that didn't stop and neither did anyone else. If I'd had a camera mounted, I would have taken the footage to the police.

I mounted mine just below the windshield with a gopro mount and 3M double sided tape, the good stuff. Switch the camera between several bikes and just clean the lens when I fuel up. All I'm trying to do with my camera is record for the purpose of dispute settlements such as accidents or other issues. Your usage may require more high level recordings which will have some baring on where you mount the camera.
