• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi All,

I am soon to purchase a 2014 Spyder STS SE5 . I am in the process of negations. I am trying to get a dealer to install a set up for a GPS. I don’t want their pricey options… want to be able to use my own GPS… and to chuck it out the door when the tech. improves. So I am trying to get a dealer to simply run a 12v line from the battery to the handle bar area to make it easy for me to hook up my GPS when I get my bike. I figure they are putting the bike together and that should be easy for them.

My question is… what kind of set up should I ask for to accomplish this?

Easiest would be something like a Powerlet outlet, although it requires a USB adapter cable to connect to a GPS. To be honest, not much effort or time will be saved installing something during dealer prep, and most dealers will want to stick with the BRP products like the cigarette outlet or the BRP GPS/mounts. Do some research, talk it over with them, and if you want something else, look at installing it yourself or getting a handy friend to help.

:agree: The dealer will want to sell BRP parts; that's why he's in business!
Pick your unit, and get a wise friend to help!
