I received an anonymous post as an Alert concerning my post and that it was edited.
I cannot locate the instructions on Thread thumbnail rules. The link does not work. I cannot find the link nor know who to ask where is this rule located? I cannot find it in the menus that pop up on the left side of my screen. Editing picture size from an iPhone is challenging and figuring out the difference between posting a picture and posting it as a thumbnail is beyond me even with an Alert to only post thumbnails (?)

Thanks to all those above who've replied here - it's always good to see the 'members in the know' stepping up and helping those still coming to grips with the platform!
Further to what's already been explained, if you get one of those Alerts, it's an automatic (almost - well, sorta, anyway...

) notification informing you that the Mod/Admin Team has done something to your post in order to allow it to show/display properly for all &/or remain displayed, usually briefly outlining what has been done and generally including a link or explanation of what you should do for future posts. If the included link won't work for you, then you should still be able to copy and paste it into your browser's address bar in order to see the Sticky. The Sticky's are those threads that are 'pinned' to the top/first spots on the index listings for each Section/sub-forum, and they'll appear in those top/first spots on every index page for that sub-forum. Look for the pins, they're generally visible just to the left of where it shows the number of Replies in the thread - if you see a Pin on a thread that you haven't yet read, then you
should read it, as that thread will likely hold info that will help you get the best from the Forum &/or your Spyder/Ryker.
When it comes to posting pics/images, if they are small enough to 'attach' to your post (as yours in this instance
was, LesC, or the alert wouldn't have begun with '
Fixed in this post...' in order to let you know that the attachment you added to this post, which likely either couldn't be seen properly by some viewers or was at risk of disappearing, has been inserted by the Mod/Admin concerned and is now able to be seen by all/shouldn't be at quite the same risk of being lost), then you/your phone won't need to re-size it any further! Instead, the Alert is telling you that while this post is now OK, the next time you post a pic, don't stop after only attaching it (tenuously!) but instead, finish the job properly by followibg the directions listed in the Sticky to actually
INSERT that attachment into your post as a thumbnail so that all can see it/it won't be lost - for most phones/devices, all it takes to do that is 3 more clicks/buttons to press, and then the platform software will auto-magically do any more re-sizing necessary as/when it displays &/or a viewer clicks on it to see it full size on their device.
If you have attached a pic and posted it, before moving on to another post/thread, please take a moment to look at the post, you just submitted; read thru the text to see if you missed anything; and look at any pics before moving on. You should be able to edit your post to fix any issues, and if your pic is any bigger than almost all of the others on the site &/or if you can still see the word '
Attachment' above any of your pics in the post, then the chances are pretty high that you haven't finished the job of inserting the pics properly as thumbnails... The Mod/Admin Team will try to fix these/help if they come across any of these later, or if your post has been reported/the Mods have been advised via DM/email that some viewers wishing to see your pics are having problems, but you shouldn't expect them to do this for you more than a few times! The vast majority of posters here have no issues with managing to post thumbnails, and most of the few who do have initial problems generally manage to come to grips with those extra 3 clicks pretty quickly. So if you are still having issues after getting a couple of alerts like the one above, there's likely something odd going on &/or you might need some specific help, please contact me (preferably via DM) and I'll try to sort thru it with you.
Good Luck!
