• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

so I'm ready to take the plunge and purchase a spyder. I'm going with the Daytona edition. the problem is that I don't wanna get ripped off. I live in tampa but I'm willing to travel if I can find an honest dealer. any feed back is greatly appreciated.

When I was on vaca I stopped in to ask a few questions at the dealer in Kissimmee. The salesmen told me who to ask for and to walk around the side of the building and just go in the door. I did and he came out looked at my bike and explained what I needed to do. Nice people.

I almost bought from West Coast Powersports in Tampa. Talk to Chris Brown. I've heard good things about them. I just happen to get great deal on color I wanted in Miami. Also go talk to Central Florida Powersports. Don't know much about sales but they have a great service department with Kenny Butler. If you are armed with prices beforehand you won't get ripped off but of course negotiate best deal and buy where you are happy.

thanks! anyone in the tampa/orlando area who has actually can recommend a dealer that youve actually purchased a spyder from? do you do your own oil changes? have your spiders been reliable?

Gave you some leads, search the forums "Chris Brown" you will find several threads like this one http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?79203-Tampa-area&highlight=chris+brown where people actually bought. I was right there until last minute when I went to Miami and chose different bike - RED RT Limited vs White RT at Tampa but would not hesitate going back. And you won't find a better dealer for Spyder service in Florida than Central Florida Powersports. Others will tell you the same thing.

I bought my RTL from Barneys on Gandy. They gave me a very competitive deal. I have a son with a personal relationship with a dealer in South Florida and he verified that he couldn't do a better deal before I signed the papers. They have done my service work since with zero complaints from me. I will continue to use them for my needs and have purchased other bikes from them in the past. I have them do the oil changes for me as I don't want to spend my time on it. I would rather have them do the service for me. That might be different if we didn't go so long between changes.

Let me know if you want to ride sometime!

I've had generally good dealings with Barney's; they have a shop in the Tampa area.

BUT......unless they are trying to charge you MORE than MSRP or last minute add in a bunch of junk fees........they are not trying to "rip you off".

They have to stay in business and pay their employees too.......just like the company that you work for.
