• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Need help connecting 2010 brp trailer to 2014 rts

I just dropped off my 2014 rts and 2010 BRP trailer to have the dealer install the hitch and get my 2010 trailer connected. I told the dealer that I thought there was an adapter for the 2010 trailer, it came with the 9 pin round connector, that would allow it to connect to the 4 way square plug of the new hitch, but he was unable to find one in the BRP catalog and said he would call Can AM tomorrow. He did suggest possibly replacing the bike and trailer with 4 way flat plugs but I became a little apprehensive and asked him to check with BRP first on the factory solution. My first choice would be to replace the 9 pin round connector on the 2010 trailer to match the new 4 way square plug that comes with the new hitch being installed.
Has anyone done that? If so I would be really grateful to know a few things.
What parts do you need for the trailer side wiring. Where did you get the parts. Do you by chance know the wiring pin out for the new plug? Finally, I remember reading a post from SpyderAnne about a ground strap, that if left off can short the trailer. Any more detail on that would be helpful as well.

4 pin adapter cable

I have a factory 9 pin to a flat 4 pin cable new in the box. Catalog price is 150.00. My 2010 622 trailer came with both but my 2012 RTS was equipped with the 9 pin. Not sure it's same for the 2014 but most likely it is.
Sold 2012 RTS without trailer, have trailer, hitch listed with cover & cable on spyderlovers for sale.
If your dealer has a problem getting one let me know.

Already pm'd Ann

Thank you Joe, I have been in touch with Ann and she has been quite helpful in getting me pointed in the right direction. I'm waiting now to pickup trailer from dealer next week after they get the parts they ordered in. Im just unsure that they are as comfortable with trailers as many of the folks here are.
