• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Im looking for a good comfortable pair of boots for riding and maybe some walking. I do suffer from Achilles Tendinitis at times, so comfort is a must!! I'm in TN and it gets hot and humid here. Any suggestions?

I like my BRP RT Touring boots...
They're comfortable for walking, easy to put on, and seem to be waterproof! :firstplace:

I picked up a pair of these and find them to be excellent quality for the price. Comfy , adjustable and waterproof and provide good support. The price is inexpensive relatively ( I will not say cheap the quality is far from cheap).

Danner Striker II 8" boots....lightweight, waterproof, breathable, comfortable. The downside is that they are not cheap.

You are going to find boot suggestions all over the place. Like seats, riding gear, and helmets. We all seem to have our preferences.

For basic riding, I still like the engineer style harness boots. I have one pair that's almost 20 years old with eagles on the harness trim. Had them resoled a couple seasons ago and expect that they are going to outlast me. They fit like the proverbial glove and I can put them on with one finger through the loop.

My rainy day boots are SIVI with the waterproof liner thingy. They zip up for ease of on/off.

A test fit is always better than trying to find the good stuff by mail order. A trip to a motorcycle accessory shop is worth it.

I just bought a pair of Magellan 3/4 length hiking boots from Academy Sports... very comfortable.. light .. inexpensive... I sprayed them with 2 coats of ScotchGard to deter moisture ..

Riding boots

We like the TCX. Light, comfortable, waterproof, breathable gore-tex. purpose built for riding. Other boots do ok; these do it superbly.

If you are looking for boots that provide good protection and are moderately priced - check out Joe Rocket - had mine since 2004 - been in 2 two wheelers major accidents with feet getting no ill effects.

I have these TCX boots which are great for summer rides and walking around:

I also have . . . .

TCX great boots. Go to RevZilla.com

+1 for the TCX boots. I have the women's version and got them from Revzilla. I can use my custom orthotics in them, and they're great for walking around in.

I have a pair of HD boots if you look around you can find them pretty reasonable. and when a local dealership has a sale sometimes you can't beat the prices.

I bought a pair of red wing harness boots in 1978. They've been resoled several times. I polish them with scuff guard. I wear them while ryding. Went down once. Hard. No injuries to feet.

yes, they really are almost 40 years old.
