So 2-3 weeks ago I was at the dealer for a parking brake issue. They had to order a part to fix it. When I received the recall notice I thought I would just wait until the brake part came in and I would get it all done at once.
Yesterday I called to see what the hold up was on the parking brake fix and that is when I found out they are no longer authorized for any warranty work. They are still trying to get the original parts they had ordered in, but it seems like things are up in the air.
So now I am really SOL. I live in eastern Wa and the next closest dealer is either in Portland (3.5+ hours) or in western Wa which is just as far. I had great service with my dealer (Shumate motorsports) and they had carried BRP for a number of years.
Does anyone have any advice for me? I called the BRP recall number and basically was just given information about the location of other dealers. Does anyone know of someone in BRP that I should complain to? This situation is just ridiculous. It would be my luck that I would get to Portland and end up having a problem where my DPS unit would need to be replaced.
