• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need advice before I spend the dough.

My 2008 GS SE5 sputters and backfires in lower rpms. I have TBR exhaust on the bike. I was told that I am probably running lean, especially when it is hot outside, and that a Juicebox would probably fix it. Any insight before I buy?

I had a very similar problem. Tried the juice box and made the bike run really funny and did not fix the issue. Talked with two bros and they kindly sent me another one which did the same thing. Every bike is different and your bike might benefit from it. I ended up trying the power commander with auto tune and my Spyder ran like a dream! So, I am partial to the PCV.

Try changing the octane from 87 to 89, then 89 to 91, and then 91 to 93. When I increase the octane in my 2011 RS-S SE5 to 93 or 95 octane it does the same. Due to my exhaust headers are taped and the exhaust gases stays hotter longer causes that increases scavenging this produces a leaner mixture. Some times changing octane, up or down can change the mixture. If you can put a baffle in the exhaust system to give more back pressure this will decrease the scavenging. Give a better fuel mixture. Call TBR and see if they make baffle or go to a muffler shop and get one made. That's IMHO.

Just a thought..!!

while checking if you need a fuel controler also check plugs and plug wires....

Thanks everyone. Just ordered a custom set of plugs and wires. Will try that first. If not better, I will keep on truckin' till I find the answer. I also do use 93 octane in everything I own. Will try taming that down as well after this tank just to see what happens. If those dont work, will look into PCV. I do appreciate the input.

I have same 2008 w TBR and yes had to install Juicebox pro to get the popping to go away - I also changed plug wire to racing ones - but the juicebox is what finally cured the popping ---

Also had a bad miss issue from 3000 to 4200 rpm's and that issue was the vapor canister gone bad - DX THAT ASAP - your symptom sounds like this issue - mine would miss hard the hotter it got in lower rpm's under 4500 - when ran in higher rpm ran fine --- juicebox fixed for awhile - then about 6 months issue just got worse --- after changing plugs, spark wires and adding juicebox - decided to Dx vapor canister to see - Easy to do just plug hose w bolt to sensor from canister - and boom All is good again :)

I would do this first - very easy to do - reversible and less than 15min to see if this is the pain you have been dealing with......

Runs like a champ 51,000 miles and counting:)

Plugs and wires. I had terrible low rpm problems with my 2008. After checking everything else, we noticed the plug wire sparking against the block. New wires and she runs great. I have Two Brothers exhaust without a juice box. She spits a little if I decelerate with it in gear, but no problems otherwise.
