• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I was riding today and I guy on a motorcycle coming the other way instead of the reg wave he gave me a spider with his hand. Turned the palm down and curved his fiqures to look like a spider, at least that is what I thought he was doing..thought that was kind of neat. Today was not a good day other wise for spyder acknowledgement...got a lot of no wave at all and a few figures raised without letting go of the handlebar...oh well

Depends what mood I'm in. If I'm taking a corner, I won't let go and wave but many times I just stand on the pegs and wave with both hands!

80 degrees in Michigan today and bikes everywhere. Close to 100% wave factor which is much higher than normal. It had to be the unexpected Indian Summer weather that made everyone wave happy.

His hands were asleep and he was just shaking the numbness out. :joke:

Actually I'm not much of a waver either. Way too many bikes in Florida to go around waving at everyone. I see plenty on the road every day that are familiar at least through seeing them often on the road and I acknowledge them. Otherwise I don't go out of my way to wave at someone.

At least you're getting waves..I've already had a few rice rockets pull up next to me, shake their heads and rocket off...after the second time I gave the guy the bird.:yikes: For some reason, the sport bike crowd isnt taking the introduction of a new design...

Around here I get a lot of thumbs up from sport bikes instead of the wave. It is all good though.

I get more thumbs up and waves from the sport bikers than I do w/ the harley types.

I am having so much fun driving the thing that I am afraid I have missed waving back at more than a few well meaning bikers coming the other direction.

was just reading thru this tread and one from a few weeks ago about the artical of waving and helping out other bikers cause we all face the same road issues of other drivers and weather and it got me thinking different riding groups like spor tbikes riders, crusers, the old school power to the biker all had or have there own style of wave a thumbs up or a plain wave or a arm pointing up with fist closed maybe we as spyder riders/lovers need to come up with our own wave or signal as we pass another bike on the road....any thoughts?

If I wait for another Spyder coming from the other direction to do a "Spyder" wave, I may never get to use it. After four months of riding, I have never passed another Spyder coming at me except on the way to the Michigan Beach and BBQ event. Should improve next year as more are on the road, but assuming that there are 10,000 on the road, the chances of passing each other going in the opposite direction are pretty small.

Agreed! But, if I am not in a turn, or serious traffic, I always try to acknowledge others on bikes, trikes, or Spyders :)

Have seen a few :spyder:'s in my area and when I approach I just stand on the seat and wave both arms frantically :yikes:. Just kidding !! Three fingers instead of the usual 2 finger wave.
