There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The "nanny" is basically the computers that kick in when you do something stupid, the vehicle stability control, traction control, etc. Limp Mode will limit your RPM so that you do not damage the machine if it has a problem. It allows you to continue on so you can get to a safe place or a dealer when a problem arises instead of shutting it down.

You don't necessarily have to do something "stupid" to get the nanny's attention. Sometime's the light on the dashboard will flash for a couple of seconds when you take a sharp turn or twisty at (what she considers) high speed. It's her way of saying, "I'm watching you" :lecturef_smilie:

Nanny saved my bacon a couple times when I went into hydroplane mode. Took a couple incidents, but now I respect driving through standing water a lot more. :bowdown:

It's called the nanny because some would like to go a bit wilder in their ryding style but the sensors reporting to the computers will stop you by appling the brakes or retarding the ignition. One will slow you down the other keep you from speeding up. She is set at a good level though she has been given a wider berth on the F3's. The limp mode will allow you to continue on if there is a problem. If serious she will shut down to prevent catastrophic problems. But don't worry, in normal ryding you will never meet the nanny and idealy you will never get the limp mode...:thumbup:

Years ago there was a farmer in central Idaho from whose house he could see all of his fields. His wife was notorious for keeping an eye on the workers in the field, even using binoculars most of the time. All the guys knew she did this so when they needed to stop for a bit of bodily relief they always made sure they were facing the house! :roflblack::roflblack:Nanny is always watching us... :shocked:
