There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

n00b question - 2 finger wave?

My understanding has always been that it's a low 2 finger wave to signal for the other rider to safe and keep 2 tires on the road. now on the spyder I throw the thumb out also for that third wheel.

As many answers as posters here. My eyesight is not so good that I can count fingers from across the median--so IMO--a wave is a wave. I don't try to interpret what they are saying. I do know what the "special" salute means--but have not experienced that in a wave from a biker so far.

I acknowledge waves with a wave of my whole hand. Sometimes I just lift the fingers of the left hand up while resting my palm on the handlebars. It depends on the driving conditions for me.

Just noticed today that I'm giving the three finger wave - middle and index for the front wheels and thumb (straight up) for the fat rear one.............. hey, it's my way.

I've got a 1 finger wave but it's something most would laugh at..When I had my 2 wheeler accident I broke my middle finger and to this day it angles out 45 degrees and all they do is stare at it...)

For the past 12 years of riding a two wheel MC, I noticed Harley riders would not return "the wave" because I was not a Harley rider...All other brands nearly 100% would!

Now since riding the Spyder, generally no two wheeler will return "the wave"...It might be because they're not use to seeing such an AWESOME machine, or MAYBE they're jealous?!:opps:

So, now I usually let the other biker make the first move....:doorag:

like others have said, getting a 2 finger down low wave is better than getting a 1 finger high up wave

I normally do 3 fingers (since Im on a trike).... thumb, index finger, middle finger... down low

2 finger wave

When I got the 2 finger waves it was 2 wheelers passing me and they did not take their hand of the left grip. They kind of left their palm on the grip and put out two fingers (middle and index). Again this is why I asked this question as to the meaning.

This seems to vary for place to place and from time to time. Prior to this year, I noted that of HD drivers about 50% would wave. Virtually no sport bikers or tourists renting the BMW's to go North to the Arctic Circle roads.

This year it seems I can add most HD to those that are now waving.
