• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

mystery button on handlebar, any ideas?

was going over my spyder the other day and found what looks like some kind of test button grouped in with the rest of the lines running to the left controls, in the area between the gauges and the clutch master cylinder. it's a tiny module with a little button sticking out. been too scared to push it in while running. lol. any clues as to what it might be? not too sure how to post a pic here, so i'll link to the pics.

I don't have anything that looks remotely like your mystery button. It looks like some kind of kill switch, or maybe it ejects the passenger.

I'm gonna take a guess here but it looks like it should be mounted in the steering area. Is it possible it's the switch that senses the wheel turn to auto cancel the turn signal?? DO your turn signals cancel themselves in bolth directions??? If not that is most likely your answer.

auto cancelling works fine. i held my breath and pushed it when it was running and nothing. now i'm really curious as to what it's for. i happen to work at a can-am dealer but we wont start selling them till june (actually had to go to another dealer that was getting them in first, boss wasnt too happy about that, but oh well) so no1 in our service dept has even worked on 1 yet,let alone know what it is.

next step is to call brp tech. maybe it only has a function when it's hooked up to B.U.D.S. for dianogstics purposes or maybe i need someone on the back to test the ejection theory :a18:

Can you actually activate the starter on your bike with the clutch lever NOT pulled in??? THis could also be the switch that detects whether clutch is pulled in or not as these bikes have a saftey feature like most that will not allow you to activate the starter unless the clutch is pulled in.

I just looked and I don't see where that might go. I know it don't go there for sure. ;D :spyder:

We probably have almost half the owners and dealers reading this forum..... SOMEBODY has to know what it is! I'm dying to know!

Was reading this post and i need to check this out , i start my :spyder: in neutral without the clutch in. Taking mine in for 600 mi. service tommorw will ask dealer about this my #is 1330. Love this website

this is the clutch safety switch (allows you to start the bike in gear with the clutch lever pulled in). if you look at the bottom of the clutch master cylinder there are two holes - the switch has two plastic pins that fit in these holes. just push the switch into the housing (button towards the clutch pivot) and should just snap in.

that was it. figures it was zip tied in 3 diff places , so i had pull off the front plastics to let out some slack so it would reach the clutch. just wanna thank everyone for the great feedback. this board ROCKS !!!!!
