MY11 Spyder Lineup

Question for LaMonster

I do have a set of the new BRP shocks heading my way to test.

Are they coming on a New 2011 model for you to put it to the test?

THANK YOU!!

Hey Lamont,

Thanks so much for the preview of the 2011 Spyder model line-up! As you well know, that information has been highly anticipated and is wonderful to lay eyes on. With that, my purchase decision is made and my eye is still set on a limited edition 2010 RS-S... it may even be good timing for an end of the model year purchase.

Thanks again,

Tim

:agree:

I'm wondering about that too. This question was asked earlier but no answer has been posted so far.

I do not think anyone high up enough the food chain is on the forums right now to say. And of course once these are actually built, photos and tweakers will tell us :2thumbs:

My first thought is yes. We just need to add the mounting system (Most likely by the brake caliper) and such.:dontknow:

I would agree that it's likely true that BRP will have to let us know directly if the anti-vibration system is either backward compatible or if a retrofit kit will be made available.

I like the red RT and the orange RS-S, but not sure I like which panels they chose to paint orange and what others should be matte black. Maybe I'll like it better in person. I am digging those black wheels though. That'd look sweet on our phantom Spyder. I may also consider the black handlebar plate and the black rear wheel is already on my wish list for the blue Spyder.

I'm sure it could but at what price? I'm not sure it would be worth the money spent. :dontknow:

The re-calibrated shocks sound like a real winner. I was very impressed with the current RT Shocks on the RS. Amazing difference. Now I'm glad I waited (always late you know).

Sometimes procrastination pays off!

I'm definitley getting a set of the new RT shocks for my RS. I know I'm going to love them!
I don't think the new RT shocks are going to be a good fit for the RS. I know if I put my current Elka's on my RS it would ride like a rock. I would say if you're going to order RT shocks for your RS you should order them now with the current part numbers.

:agree:And retro fitting would very time consuming - a good project for yourself, or very very expensive one for you from your dealer, if even available.

Ah! Come on.... Can't I be right just this once? :gaah:

You have a very good point. There is a fine line between getting better performance and ruining the over-all ride quality. I may just do that. Good advice, Sir!

For those that money makes no difference when it comes to their ride and their safety, you can be sure, they will be able to tell others what kind of difference they really make. Some days I feel like I might have retired too soon. :roflblack:

Someone from the Florida Express has the '10 RT shocks on his RS and says he really likes them and that they have made a huge difference in stability!
