• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

MY11 Spyder Lineup

As far as mileage on the shield I'm not sure if you see any increase or not. I'm running the ESI Street Magic shield now that is 3" shorter but it is 5" wider and I'm not seeing any increase in fuel economy but I do like looking over the shield much better. When the RT5 guys were briefed last year we were told that they were going to offer 3 different shield heights but for whatever reason they held off on bringing them out this year.

my shield is exact 2inch lower and 1 1/2inch smaller on the sides (perfect!)- also the flaps are away - changed at 1000mls - now with more than 6000mls i feel she uses 5-10% less than before - only a little more than my GS - do you think this is only because the engine runs " better " with this milage ???

Your mileage should improve as the engine seats but it is certain that windshield size does make a MPG difference.

Love the activities in this forum! :2thumbs: Anybody know approximately when these new Spyders will be rollin' in to the Can-Am dealers? :dontknow:

2011 RT

I put off buying a 2010 RT-AC in blue and glad I did love the new 2011 gray will def be at the dealer when these babies hit the floor cash in hand. thanks Lamont for the preview.

I am really looking forward to seeing these in person, in the sun light. They are going to be awesome!

The new colors look great. I wonder what they have done UNDER the skins besides the anti-vibe system for the RS? I know of the front end enhancement for the RT guys which I think is great. I just wish they would have done same for the RS guys too.

Oh well, I'm sure that more tech info will leak out as the time gets closer... The anticipation is killin me!

I would say BRP is engineering the 'Leakage' of information. This is going to be an interesting year. And I am sure there are bigger and better things in the pipeline.

At some point I think the Spyder is going to go viral. There is just too much fun for us to keep it to ourselves much longer...

bad thing is

the improvements arent going to be covered our warrenties.. Now we all know we will be riding the less superior machines.:spyder2: Vibration is a real problem on the RS.

recently

I've had the front end aligned as it was an inch and half off. then I had both wheels mounted with new tires (at 6200 miles) and speed balanced. I know some of the vibration comes from the 5 inch higher bars and one inch risers. but it does get smooth at different speeds.:spyder2:

Honestly, I'm just hoping that these 2011s won't have any of the issues that the previous :spyder: had (esp. steering & transmission problems)--2011 Spyders=RELIABILITY? :doorag:

Really? I don't have much in the way of vibration issues with mine. It rides smooth except for the occasional belt vibration. But that is a minor thing.

I am with Forrest on this one, no more yellow just makes ours that much more special. :D

The new ones do look good though, and I may have to see about getting some of those new black parts later as well.

The New 2011s

Great post on the new Spyders. Good to see Can-Am is listening to somebody, because the black wheels/steering wheel and stitch seat...to name a few, is what people are wanting to see. Now, I have to see if they'll work with me in getting a new seat on my 08 GS. I do believe in MIRACLES!

BAD COLOR CHOICE

:gaah::spyder::dontknow:WHAT COLOR IS PAVEMENT?WHY WOULD BRP PAINT ANY SPYDER THAT MAGNESIUM COLOR? THAT NEW GREY IS NICE BUT YOU WOULD SHOW UP LIKE A CAMILION IN A TREE,HAVING CARS AND TRUCKS CUTTING YOU OFF AND KILLING YOU!!! WHAT ARE THEY THINKING!!! KEEP IT BRIGHT! MINE WAS THAT FLAT SILVER SO I PAINTED IT SYNERGY GREEN!!!!!

I like the way the front spoiler looks when color matched also the blacked out bars, pegs and stuff ..very nice. It's like many things in life - Your more than satisfied with what you have, but still can't help but be somewhat covet-es of the newer/younger model.
