• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well now,,, good one Justin but mine is still in the crate!!! As of Saturday at 5:15 p.m. anyways. I have decided to hold off for a couple more weeks since we have ordered a truckload of goodies from Loiselle's and we all want to make sure that it's all in, installed and running perfect before we pick it up. By the way,,, did you know that this dealership will have sold 28 RT Limited all together. They have 71 Spyders sold already this year. They employ 9 technicians. They are opening another dealership in Gatineau in about one month. Man oh man,,, that's gonna be the third one!!! Simply amazing!:firstplace:

Etienne is a great owner. We bought 3 Spyders from him. Alain and Betsy are awesome too, Couldn't ask for a better dealer. They have a brand new dealership going up in Limoges. They'll be closing the Embrun one. Won't be for awhile though they have a lot of red tape to get through with the city of Ottawa. They we're number 1 Dealer in North America last year.

I assumed this white one was yours since you said you're picking it up and it was the only one around. They have a pile of Spyders in crates so yours is probably there. what's nice with this dealer is, if you have some major downtime you'll get a loaner.

Did you see the wood helmet hangin on the wall? My buddy built that for Alain. One day we were there and Alain knew my buddy was wanting the new BRP helmet. He got him all excited and told him he was going to get it. Alain came back with a milk crate on his head. So Greg made him a helmet with a shield from his RTS windshield that he cut.

Well Ticketbait, for now I'm getting a Gorrila burglar alarm. I was told by a friend that it's the best one out there and also one of the ones that insurance companies accept and give a discount on. So, that will pay for itself eventualy. I'm also getting a battery tender installed on the Spyder. Actually all it is is a small harness connected directly to the battery and you end up with a little two wire connector under the seat. You plug a small charger in the 110 outlet and the pig tail in the connector under your seat and Voila!!! You are tendered to. Trailer hitch is another item. CB/Comm will be installed. Utopia backrest.

PS BTW, did anybody in Spyderland know that there are two Helmet olders built-in the new 2011 RT-S?

There is an alternative to hooking up a Battery Tender to an RT. The 12V outlet in the rear trunk is hot all the time. An adapter from the Battery Tender (SAE) to a cigarette outlet, allows charging directly through the rear trunk. Powerlet makes an adapter, and so do some charger manufacturers. I bought the one to fit my Accumate/Optimate chargers from my BMW shop.

There were two helmet hooks on the 2010 RT, just so you know. :D

Congrats,

I just got mine yesterday(4/6/11) Pearl White is just beautiful.

On 4/5 I was going to get one, but saftey check found something up with
steering. Wobble side to side. So dealer had another, and built that one.

I rode it home just about 30 miles and it was very windy. it seemed to me that the bike was extremely hard to handle. never took it over 55 mph.
I'm not sure if is me or the RT. Going to call dealer to see what's up.

Please let me know how you like your ride when you get it.

Thanx-- Spy3

:welcome: and :congrats: on your new Spyder. Chances are you were gripping the bars way too tight during your ryde, and fighting against the natural track of the Spyder. It is not like a motorcycle and will track perfectly straight. You need to relax your grip as it responds to little inputs very well. It may take a couple hundred miles or so to get used to it, but you will figure it out and be very happy with it.

The problem is most likely that you are trying too hard. It takes a few hundred miles to really get used to the Spyder. It demands a light touch. Relax your grip on the handlebars, and let it go down the road. You have to train yourself not to respond to the wind excessively. Just because your shoulders move as the wind hits them, you do not need to steer. Trust me, we have all been through this.

I also highly recommend that you set out some soccer cones or cut some tennis balls in half, set up the skills course shown in your manual, and practice until maneuvers on the Spyder are second nature. An empty parking lot is ideal for this. With a little dedicated practice, a light touch, and a little more seat time, you'll feel at home soon.
