• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My RT 2010 Techno hard to start sometimes

Hi all", sometimes when i try to start my RT, it is like having a flat battery it just starts to crank over, but then stops. I wait a minute and it starts up fine. the nanny shows no error codes either,

Peter, I am sorry no one here got back to you regarding your question, I don't have the answer but I saw that you posted your question in the chat section that I frequent. So hopefully someone here will have the answer.

I did do a search of "hard starting" and this thread popped up, so click on it and read all the suggestions

2010 RT's had a hard starting issue if one tried to re-start when the engine was hot. You could almost crank it forever. There was an update to the computer that solved mine.

Not your exact problem, but maybe related?

Hi mate", i just had a brand new computer put in it because the first one was faulty and the speedometer jumped around all over the place, and no light in Tacho either.

Hey Peter, this could be a long-shot, but it might be worthwhile to check your battery terminals & leads just to make sure both are clean & tightened properly. Could also pay to check the leads on the starter motor end the same way if you can! :thumbup:
 
Bummer...

It does sound like you need to check all connections and fuses/relays for the starting issue. There were some starter problems with the magnets getting loose but your is more connections. I know that some of the early models with the DPS problem had them changed more than once so you might check with the dealer and see if the one they installed in 2011 was still one of the defect ones...:thumbup:
 
:agree: First are the battery connections clean and tight. Is the main ground tight, negative jump post under the seat. Then to the rest of the main connections.
