• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My pain your gain....

I'm stupid. In January of this year I bought a new rear tire for my 2015 ST Limited and bought the wrong size. It has been in my garage and is longing to be mounted on a spyder.

Tire is brand new - still in the wrapping. Purchased for about $75 and we'll almost give it away for $40. I'm located in Noblesville Indiana.

Tire size is 215/60R 15

it's not the OEM size, but will fit well.... actually, it's a better tire.... keep it, mount it, ride it....

That is the correct size. It is what I am running. Great tire and almost completely corrects speedo error.... Run it and enjoy.

215/60R 15 ?

225/50R-15 is what I put on mine, based on advice from other threads.

Hmmmm... mine doesn't completely correct the speedo error, so maybe the 215 is the better size? :dontknow:
Mine has almost 27k miles now, and looks like maybe 30k is all she's gonna do. But that's just fine! :ohyea:

225/50-15 is the OEM size...
But 215/60-15 is a perfectly acceptable alternative, that goes a long way in correcting that two mph error at 50 mph...

.. I have used this size on 3 different Spyders ..... So WHY do you think it doesn't fit ??? .... This size is a little larger and on the GS/RS made the clearance for the rear fender a bit tighter ........ I put 1/4in spacers between the fender and the mounting bracket and this cured any issues ..... I made the spacers from Gray plastic plumbing tubing - the kind that might be under your sink to connect the faucets to the feeder pipe in your system ..... it fits your bolts exactly and it's easy to cut with a " box cutter " ...........Mike

HUH? Bob, your numbers are confusing.

Have you had your coffee (royale) yet? :roflblack:
What's confusing about them? The 225 is the OEM Kenda. Almost no one makes a car tire in the OEM size. The 215 fits Spyders quite nicely and is a slightly larger diameter. The speedo on the Spyder shows about 2 mph higher than real speed at 50 mph. The larger tire brings the actual speed of the Spyder much closer to the indicated speed.

Truest me... it'll do exactly what I say it will... nojoke
My post was about the mixing of numbers. We started out with:
215/60 vs 225/50 -- then I thought you posted:
225/60 vs 215/50 ?? BUT--- you did NOT! I must have confused myself! (From lack of coffee at 8am?) :opps:

Carry on! :D

There you have it...

All of the above should make you want to keep the tire and install it when you need it...unless you already got rid of it and now have to go out and get another one...

:D No problem: it's easy to get those numbers mixed up!
I agree... more coffee is needed! :coffee:

Bob--You've never rode that fast--what was the error at 40 mph. OK that one time you were almost late for "happy hour".
