• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My New Spyder Trunk

Just finished my Spyder Trunk on my S2S. My wife and I like to take long multi-day trips and at times find ourselves out of room with all of our carry alongs and purchases. Just added the trunk to the back of my Show Chrome trailer hitch that I purchased from Lamonster, added a Plano 1615 box with weathersealing and now I am in business. Didn’t want to pull a trailer or have the expense of a trailer, so this should carry all that we will need for a 10 day trip.

According to BRP , the hitch weight limit is 40 lbs. ..... good luck .... Mike

Yes, I am well, and will continue to be, under that limit. With the frunk, sidebars and “upper” trunk, this will have approx 30lbs at max loaded. Thanks for the reminder Mike.

Don't carry anything fragile in it. Because it's mounted on the swing arm the box will take a helluva beating. Soft, light stuff is the best to carry in it.

Nice. Perfect for clothes, rain gear, gloves.
Lost a perfectly good bottle of rum in one of those, and the mess was epic!

Maybe, but I bet your clothes smelt really good for at least a little while afterwards! . Probably would've taken a bit of explaining if you got pulled over for anything by a Cop tho.... :opps:

Looks good! I have a RT622 trailer but I may consider adding something like this when I have a "tweener" trip. Too much stuff for my current storage but not enough for my trailer.

Looks good! Can I make one small suggestion though (off topic)……..if the picture with you sitting on the bike is not staged, can you please wear shoes instead of glides. The picture could be staged and you just installed to show us and that’s fine pulling it into garage or driveway after. Please don’t take that the wrong way, it’s just a suggestion if you are going to ride on the road. You make your own decisions. The extra storage does look good. I have considered it myself.

I like it a lot. How does it work with the exhaust blowing right at it. Does it get too hot or dirty?

I checked the box after an hour drive and it was warm to the touch, however not too hot. I will be applying a silicone heat shield on it tomorrow and then all should be good. As far as dirt, I am not sure as of yet, however, I do expect it will catch a lot of debris.
