There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. My Life Will Be Sad & Empty

got to keep those 'job creators' happy

where have they been for the last 4 years while their profits have sky rocketed??

oh, thats right.... they've been firing people so they can make more profits

Higher wages for management pay ( because they have to make more than their union counter parts )
40 hour work weeks.
Weekends off.

Yeah, these are the things that labor unions created a long, long time ago. You decide.

This is what shuts down America?

No, the lobbyist that promote child labor in Asian countries for pennies on the dollar is what shuts down this country.

There is a lot of bunk out there about this company closing down. Some facts...

- The vile evil private equity firms are the ones that extended the line of credit to Hostess after the 2004 bankruptcy up till now- other wise Hostess would have been long gone already... these same private equity firms are now losing countless millions for taking on the risk that was Hostess. Win some, lose some.
- The unions took an 8% pay cut as did all non-union management
- The Teamsters who are one of the unions involved did not strike and chose to not support the other union currently striking - citing the agreement BOTH unions agreed to.
- The baking industry is under capacity which is another reason another company didn't want to buy any part of the company back through the past decade.
- Baking is local... Hostess is closing everywhere. There are handfuls of employees losing their jobs all over the Charlotte market - These jobs are no fulfilled by labor overseas. (slow boat doesn't work well for shipping baked goods, and air freight is too much $$$)
- Management admitted that the company was badly managed for over a decade.

You have to admit that something is indeed wrong with a union who mandates that the wonder bread truck driver can't also haul Twinkies to the same super market. It is a low margin, competitive industry and when you can be efficient you lose... Twinkies and the other brands will be bought up by non-union shops and prosper.

I meant a box for ME to sell for $100!!!! :roflblack:

I just read that the CEO of Hostess just gave himself a 300% pay raise, while trying to cut his employee's pay and benefits. That's why I say "an excuse". Maybe "convenient" would be a better word? I don't know. The whole thing sounds kinda fishy to me. I do agree that they could have picked a better time to strike!! Eeesh!!!

Maybe we could start a "Save The Twinkie" campaign???!!! :D

Not sure where you read it but it is probably false... The CEO of a company can't give himself a raise... the board of directors does. Furthermore, as part of the 8% cut that both unions took to their pay, all management including executive management also took an 8% cut.

Soo your salad was more unhealthy than 2 Whoppers and a Large Fry smoothered in Ketchup with extra salt!!:yikes:

I make 4 salads every four days they each have-
1-Green Leaf Lettuce ( Lots of it)
2-1/4 Cucumber
3-1/2 Banana
4-1/2 Red Grapefruit cut in pieces! ( Great in salads)
5-1/2 Tomatoe
6-Strawberries
On top Lemon juice, Mrs. Dash, and Apple Cider vinegar.

Costs about $4 a day and keeps the Doctor away!!!!!!:roflblack:

Chicken and dumplings, peas and rice, macaroni and cheese , deviled eggs, biscuits, saweeeet tea, and homemade pound cake for dessert. Now that's a meal:yes::yes: Y'ALL

93 people lost their jobs here. No happy holidays over that.

The argument for pro union vs. anti union is probably best left to another forum. This is a subject that has a large number of proponents on both sides--and you are never going to solve it on Spyderlovers.

Just heard on the news- the union/s is/are going back to mediation with Hostess. I only caught the tail end of the news; but, it sounded like there is more than one union with representation at Hostess.

(I can almost hear him...)
