I've been playing with this fuel/air quite a bit on the 109 and we can leave the stock air box in but feed it cool air from the outside of the bike and pick up about 5hp.
The same should be true for the Spyder and maybe even better seeing the air is so hot inside those panels. So I got a wild hair and made up a cold air intake using off the shelf parts and keep the stock air box. You can leave your filter in if you want or take it out, I don't think it's going to matter all that much but getting cool air will. I'll post more details later.
This is my last mod.....today.

While I do think the tail end of the spyder needs something...that wing makes me think that spyder needs a little something less!It could be worst

Heyyy...I don't see Magic Mans carbon fiber on that wind screen...Where is it Mr.?
:barf:I wonder if it's top heavy? I picture Fred Flinstone falling over after they throw that big steak on the side of his car.
Except I have fog lights in my fog light openings.I think the air scoops or the fog light openings would look better and a little more professional or factory equipped. In all a good idea though.

Since, you already cut the holes, that's the perfect place for the scoop inlets. It would also look really clean. 'Just my thought.
The top piece can be replaced if I hate it. So far I like it.
I may see if Magic Man could make some killer looking scoops right there. The concept is still sound. Cool air makes more power. That's why you see all these Cold Air Intakes on the market now.:doorag:
