• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I bought this bike new '13 st-s circuit yellow of course, not knowing anything about spyders cept I enjoyed the ryde. Now I am at 600 miles just talked to the dealership about the first service. He sayes checking valves are recommended by bpr but he said was a waste of 2 to 300 dollars. The service was already close to 300 without it. .... do I need to pay for this I have had no issues ?........... also it was 90+ degrees today I put well over 100 miles some stop and go city some 70 mph interstate no heat issues. I find out there is no recall/update stuff been done to this bike should I get it done even though I have had no issues. All in all I have enjoyed the spyder this site and everything. Even though I broke a aluminum bracket today while putting on my rigid saddle bags so now im looking for a welder or a replacement part lol. Stuff I have added are the flat black rigid bags and a Smoothspyder adjustable seat .... oh yeah and one sexy driver haha I kid I kid:roflblack:PicsArt_1399765843075.jpgPicsArt_1399765810786.jpgPicsArt_1399765963805.jpgPicsArt_1399765926167.jpg

Here's the thing..!!

if this is what the dealer told you beware...valve adjustments are not recommended till you reach 14,000 miles and most don't need it then either. I have 18,000 and valves are fine. Its your choice. First service is not free but I recommend doing it. You heat recalls and updates should have been done already. You can have it checked with your vin# at the dealer. If they did not do it have it done...

There are two reasons the dealership would tell you that. One is they are not well versed in the Spyder's maintenance schedule, or they are looking to make a fast chunk of cash. Neither is a good sign about the dealership. Also keep in mind that if someone other than the service manager said you need to get the valves adjusted take it with a grain of salt. Sales and Finance people don't seem to put much effort into gaining product knowledge. The finance manager at the dealership I bought my ST at told me I needed the valves adjusted at 100 miles and then tried selling me a $2200 "maintenance plan". I got my break in service done as BRP requires, and that does not include a valve adjustment. Cost me about $280.
But as I said if it was the service manager that told you that then I would try to find another dealership for your service. If it wasn't then talk to the service manager about it.

Yeah there brp the rigid bags I guess I am missing the plastic color piece I bought them from a dealer. The plastic piece is 130ish. But I prefer the black. And I broke the aluminum bracket lol
