• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My DPS Replacement experience

I picked up my Spyder last night from its scheduled service and DPS replacement.

Drives like a champ!
My first failure was last spring on the way to Daytona after the software update. I had the typical lockup then release with oversteer. Scared the bejeezus outta me. I got the DPS replaced under warranty, and experienced at that time what some people are saying now about it being more reactive / sensitive. I quickly got used to it and got to he point I liked it.

I was almost afraid to get the recall replacement done now, thinking it would be even more touchy, but thought it was best to get it done since it was such a big recall. Drives just like the second one, and as I said, I really feel more in control now than when I first bought the bike.

Good to know we are picking up both mine and dees dpyder today from dealer this morning

I've had my new DPS for about three weeks now and really like the way it steers.

:congrats:

Glad to hear it is working well for you, and you are happy with it. We are still on the waiting list here.

Just got mine done.. They said there were 15 orders for it because all dealers only get so many at a time. But I had my Spyder there for another issue that go figure fixed itself once I was on my way there and they had to bill me $100 for an inspection. So I asked them to skip me ahead of everyone for the DPS since they had one left and they did... So the DPS cost me $100! :yikes: Good and bad I figure, haha!

Just got back from taking ours to Cowtown in Fort Worth for new DPS and drive belt tension check. plus battery was dead this morning. Time for a new one..Hope to get it back next Wednesday...can't wait.

Glad to hear it worked out for ya. I didn't want to do mine either but the folks here made me see the reason to do it (I need to be reigned in from time to time! :D) and after a little adjustment in riding style it's all good. Now things steering wise are better than ever; I can go just as hard as I want and have total confidence. and that's a good thing. I'm actually smoother now which means faster! :ohyea:

BTW, that avatar pic is killin me dude! :roflblack:

$100 for trying to cancel an appointment .... WTF?!? I would not of paid them a red cent if they didn't do anything.
