Last week went to Spyder In The Redwoods with my youngest daughter who took leave to fly out from New York to go with me. It was a great trip, and an even better time. The only bad point was the day before we left for SITR she told us (Mom & I) that she is being deployed to Afghanistan in January. While talking to people at SITR it came up that she was being deployed, so on the last evening of the event at the BRP sponsored dinner she was called up in front of the group to be given a special Flag, a psalm 91 challenge coin (one of her favorite scriptures), and a PGR challenge coin.
What made this so special is for almost everyone there it was the first time I met them, and the first for my daughter. While she was so embarrassed by being in front of everyone she was really touched by it. When we got home she would show those two coins, and tell about the little flag to everyone she know. Even after the dinner their was a couple people that gave her their raffle tickets in case they were drawn (she did not win anything) for a prize she could have it. Made me proud not only of her, but to be part of a group that treats each other as family. Special thanks to Will, Rich, and Dede.
PS. Sorry for the poor filming.
