• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My 917 project .....cont'd.

BLUEKNIGHT911

Sadly Passed Oct 2024 - RIP
Well it was a Balmy day today here in VT ..... 16 + degrees F .....which is a 36 + degree change from yesterday ( - 20 F ) ...... so I did a little work ...... Cleaned out a new section of my garage , and moved the Nose Half of my car over to that section..... I have to re-mount the rear half back onto the chassis so I can figure out how much I can lower the back of the rear section .... I want to change the angle because right now the Tail sticks way up at the back ...... The temps this weekend are said to be about - 35 and that's without any wind factor ,................... Mike

Yikes...!!!

From the forcast it looks like the 917 will be resting with the spyder for a while....:banghead:

WELLLLLLL NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT

From the forcast it looks like the 917 will be resting with the spyder for a while....:banghead:
I wish that were the case ..... the Spyder lives in the Spyder cave where it's 68 degree's ....... I have an 8 ft wide by 18 ft long ramp that goes into my basement ...... I built a platform 8ft x 12ft. over the ramp and that's where the Spyder stays ..... I can actually raise on end of the platform to the ceiling so full access to the basement is possible ....... Mike

Mike,
Do you know why the original owner mounted the rear of the car up so high? :dontknow:
Could he have had clearance issues with the intake or exhaust systems?

BODY ISSUES

Mike,
Do you know why the original owner mounted the rear of the car up so high? :dontknow:
Could he have had clearance issues with the intake or exhaust systems?
The way He had the exhaust built ....it is actually higher than the engine, this has a lot to do with the upward sweep of the body ....He was also dealing with a ONE piece Body, Because I cut it in half, I can drop the rear without affecting the front .. right now I'm checking to see how much it can be changed without altering the exhaust ..... However there are different styles of Headers that I could swap to .......... after more examination I'll know where this will go ....... Mike
