• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Muthco Turn Signal Mirrors

Anyone purchased mirrors that have the enclosed turn signal light in the mirror. I was looking at this and thought what a neat idea for the RT. I think they install them for 219.00 per mirror. Does anyone have these and if so was or is it a good investment?

Thanks :joke:

I'm cuious as well... :bbq::bbq::bbq:
I'm pretty sure that at least one of us did get a set of them; they posted pictures of them in here during all of the discussions about extra turnsignal indicator lighting...

I had them on my Gold Wing and they are great. My passenger loved them as she could see what turns I was going to make before I made them. When I mounted LED strips on my RT mirrors, Muth did not have anything available for the RT's. I wrote and told them they should develop a kit for them just like the Gold Wings. Many others must have done the same. It looks like they have developed a kit for the RT's.

However, the 'Wing is a simple replacement -- easy to take out the mirror, put in the mirror, wire it and you're done. Very simple. I just took a look at the "instructions" on the Muth site for the RT. They require you to disassemble the mirror housing (tricky at best), then heat the mirror glass with a glue gun to soften the glue and separate the glass from its backing, etc, etc. Not a job I would want to tackle. If you could ship them the complete mirror and get it done by them, great. But it looks like for $219 they send you the kit and instructions. For $20, my LED strips look very built-in and work great. There are numerous threads here detailing different approaches by folks using arrows, LED strips, etc. Muth would give you the most professional OEM look, I admit. But you might want to take a look at the instructions first. If they make you uncomfortable, give them a call to see if they would do the installation. Just a suggestion...

For about $7 you can buy surface mount LED turn signals at the autoparts store and wire them into the factory signals on the front side of the mirror housing.

you can shipp your mirrors to them and get the installment done thru them -I believe they told me about 260.00..its called S-MOD install on their website!:cheers:

Thanks for that info! :thumbup:
It's pretty obvious that this is a relatively expensive way to attack this issue; but the results do speak for themselves! :firstplace:

For $20 at AutoZone and 4 Positaps you can have rear AND Side visibility.

Tricled makes rear facing led stip signal lights for the Spyder mirrors. I can't find them on their site but if you contact Reggie he will make a set.

So who's going to pull the trigger, and then give us a full report? :shocked:

I received them in the mail today & will be putting them on sometime before SpyderFest. Looks like the only tool I'm missing is a guitar pick.

I'll post something to let you know how it goes...
