• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Muscle Bike Renaissance

I have always been a fan for big, fast, load bikes :bowdown: My favorite for years was the original V Max. But now, there is a bit of a renaissance of muscle bikes. Here is an article I found.

{Some people are having trouble with this link}

I have heard they had to tone down the original V Max because it was a widow maker. I am not sure that is true, but it does add to the legend.

I'll have to see if I can find DannyMax's contact info for you. :D
He used to ride an RS, but went back to his first love: the original V-Max! :bowdown:
He likes to build them, and has had some MONSTERS come out of his garage! nojoke

Always wanted to ride a V-Max. The people that I've talked to have said you either love em or hate em. Sure would like to take one for a spin. I think the numbers for the M109 are a little on the low side for HP & TQ. But then again it has been said that the newer M109's are tuned down compared to the older ones (06-08). The stock M109 are pulling around 100 HP and 108 for TQ.

When they first came out; one of the magazine testers said that it was the first stock bike he had ever seen, that could pull a 6" drag slick off the line without bogging! :bowdown:

To Max! :cheers:

This article has been circulating on the M109r site for a while. As a former owner of 2 M109's, and a future owner of a Vmax, I think things are a little off. The M109 was rated at 127 hp. Maybe their numbers are from a dyno at the rear wheel. My 06 put out 108 rwhp, and my 07 actually put out 117 rwhp. The 07 was a factory feak. I knew from my first test drive, that it was stronger than normal. But on the day it was dynoed, a friend dynoed his 07 with mods. Even with his mods, it only put out 8 more hp, when it should have been about 15-20 more hp.
I hope to gift myself a 2nd gen vmax in 18 months when my youngest graduates college. Sort of a graduation gift for me:2thumbs:

V-Max is a good one. I had a Yamaha Venture touring back in the 80's. They were powered with a slightly toned down V-Max engine. No matter, it went much faster than I ever cared to go.

I owned one of the orginial V-Max... man did that engine put out torque, you could roll on the throttle in 2nd and break the back tire loose.. it was a boot to ride.. my favorite thing to do was flat track it around a corner, I got a ticket in Daytona for "display of acceleration" at bike week ...the cop told me he was impressed by my ability to perform that stunt but it did not belong on the street.. I did like that bike..

So how did it turn at slow speeds, like when you are merging into traffic?
