There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Mud Flap Lights with a Triple (play) Twist!

Wiring question

Wasn't too bad, just took time. I spliced on about 7" of wire on each mud flap lead and then put the 4 wires thru a plastic wire loom. Then took off the right side panels and ran the loom along the frame rail, under the fuel tank, under the fuse block and into the rear of the Spyder. In there tapped into the turn signal wires. All in all it was a fun project!:2thumbs:

I already have the mudflaps installed. They are tapping power from, and are grounded to, the clip lights on the fenders. Do I need to run 4 wires and bring the ground all the way back to the rear singnals on the triple play? Can't I just keep the ground hooked up to the clip lights? That way only two wires need to be run down to the rear.

Also what would be the smallest guage wire that should be used to power those mudflap lights? Being leds, they can't draw too much, but there are alot of them.

I would expect this should work. The lights shouldn't be switched through the ground. Given the short distance to the rear, the same size wire as is already on the mudflap lights should work fine. If you are a worrier, go a size bigger. Sorry, it has been a while since I saw the mudflap lights, so I wouldn't even venture a guess as to the wire size. With luck it will be marked on the wire. Otherwise, try to match it up, or use a caliper to measure, then look up the gauge size in a table.

Nice job Dave. Stop by and let me check it out when you get a chance. I changed out my air filter with the new K&N filter Sunday. I can tell the difference already.

Thanks Scotty,

The lights are not switched through ground. I checked with a test light atttached from the positive wire of the triple play to ground at the tank and it flashed the light. And yes, I am a worrier, this is why I ask before I experiment. The mudflaps are installed so I will have to pull the wheels off and check the wire size on that end.

Installed the NMN mud flap lights. Awesome product! Must have somehow got my wires crossed though.:hun: Ran them to the back of the Spyder and tapped into the NMN triple play. Now have triple play flap lights, running, turns, and brakes:clap:

See YouTube- Broadcast Yourself.

Great Job!! What I Love the most is how the stock tail lights go solid upon breaking and the four others blink.. To me thats so much more effective than ALL of them blinking!!:2thumbs:
