• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am only getting 190 miles per tankful on my new 2015 RT LTD, is that normal?

I'm getting about 32 MPG.. per tankful

My average highway speed is about 70-75 mph.

I use premium gas.

I ride conservatively since I'm still learning.

I ride with the ECO mode on.

MPG can vary greatly depending on rpm you shift at ! Do exactly what your owners manual states for shifting RPM !!!!! This will increase your MPG to maximum !

I averaged 34 mpg the last 2 tanks averaging 65-70. Hopefully it will get better with a few more miles on it. I have just turned 1000 miles. Still better than my 2013. How many miles on yours and where are you at in central Fl? I am in Titusville.

Give it a chance....

to break in...we all got poor mileage for the start but it will get better even at those speeds...just because the first service is not till you reach 3,000 miles does not mean it is already broken in out of the box....you will get better mileage and if you really want to get the best out of your new ryde...forget the mileage unless thats the only reason you got it....:roflblack::roflblack:

I am getting 34 - 35 MPG on my 2014 RT Limited. It just turned 2000 miles. Seems to be slowly improving. Most of my milage is at around 55 - 60, but quite a bit of in town driving mixed in.

Love my Spyder, wish I had gotten one sooner.

I am De Leon Springs which is just outside of De Land. I have 660 miles. WOW 34mpg is not a lot. You have a 2015 as well?
How many miles do you get from a tankful?

Lots of factors cause variation in mpg.

Over the four :spyder2:'s I have owned with the 998 Rotax, I find I get average 31 mpg. High 34 mpg and low 27 mpg.

The 2014 RT (now with 16.5K miles on it) I have averaged between 39 and 41 mpg.

Premium gas on all, no eco mode on the 2014, and I do not drive aggressively. RPM's kept at 5000-5500 on the 998 Rotax and 3500 on the 2014.

I usually go 150 miles per tank on the 998 Rotax before looking for a filling station. The 2014 RT lets me go 200 miles per tank.

You need to have about 5000 miles for the engine to be broken in for best fuel mileage.

70 to 75 MPH

The speed has a great deal to do with your gas mileage. Every time you double your speed the wind resistance quadruples, so you're pushing four times harder against the air at 70 than at 35 mph. Remember the RT has the aerodynamics of a barn door, which doesn't help any.

About the same 32-33 MPG at 75-85 and mostly freeway. Got 32 MPG with 2013 and 31 with trailer at 65 MPH. 37-38 with 2200 miles at 55-60. Usually plan 180 miles per tank with 1/4 tank showing. Speed at lower miles on Spyder seems to be the big killer. I expect it to improve with mileage and am happy.

38 to 43 mpg up here... :2thumbs:
Riding MUCH more conservatively than you are.
I've stretched the tank to just over 220 miles, and I did NOT see any "Low Fuel" warning light...
