• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I wondered if anyone has seen any figures on MPG for the F3. I would think that there would be a difference in MPG between the RTS and the F3, due to the difference in weight and gearing.:dontknow:
 
Good question. We will have to hear what the beta testers get.

Am guessing more mpg because of the weight factor. The different gearing may make a difference though. One other thing has come to mind. I think these are going to be driven faster than the RT's. Less mpg there.

but would venture to guess the same or less depending on ryding styles and all those other annoying variables...but really..!! Sleek new faster more powerful cooler and all those other explicatives to discribe the F3 and already we are into the mileage..!! Ryde it for what it is..a screamingly fun machine..if you can't afford the gas I'll lend you a few bucks...:roflblack::roflblack:
 
Needs to be a 7 speed for mpg

Ain't gonna lie...I think it needs another gear. And considering how I drove it during my demo, without a doubt, it will be less. Very fun though...

From what I recall; BRP was saying that you could get over 250 miles per tankful... About the same as they mentioned for the RT.

You guys must not remember the whole oversized front sprocket battles... :banghead:

Like Bob said, how much more (power) is really needed? My Spyder goes through the twisties plenty fast, and will go down the highway much faster than I'd care to go . . . if you want mind-boggling power, get a Kawasaki Ninja H2R.

. . . since the specs are well published for the Spyder, why did you buy one if 115HP isn't sufficient for you? :dontknow:
 
The power is there, but what is really surprising is the amount of torque on demand. She definitely launches! As far as gearing, sprocket debates and the like, it was just an observation that I felt during my demo. It is a completely different animal which will appeal to different people. It isn't enough to make me give up our RT, but it sure was fun to light the tires up on BRP's dime. Besides...the CFO would not be comfortable on it. We are usually 2 up and a RT just suits us better.
However.....after playing with the 1330 in the F3, I think I have all the info needed to possibly entertain the purchase of a '15 RTS!
 
Nevermind....you guys win. Maybe they could do 15 spds. and use a motor that is 30hp that gets 80mpg. That might be more appealing around here.

It's published somewhere as 42 mpg (can't remember where I read this). I've averaged about 29 mpg for my 2012 RTL, so I'll be happy with the increase.
 
I test rode and F3 424 miles and got basically the same mpg as I get on my 2014 RTL (keep in mind the F3 could hardly be considered broken in yet, and I was anything but gentle
 
I don't have too much experience on the RT-S yet but the best I ever got on my Goldwing was 42 mpg and the worst was 27 starting with a full tank. The few times I have filled up the Spyder, it has been the same way. Specs are not very useful because it is really all about how you ride it.
 
MPG has and probably never will be a factor when riding/purchasing a toy for me.
And only the USA/Canadian F3 will be getting the bigger rear sprocket, Europe and Australasia will have
the same rear sprocket as the RT, and from what I remember it gives the F3 the potential to get to well
over 200kph which is over 130mph, that's fast enough in anyone's language.

NEWBIE 2015 RT LTD What kind of MPG r normal?

I am only getting 190 miles per tankful on my new 2015 RT LTD, is that normal? I'm getting about 32 MPG..
My average highway speed is about 70-75 mph.:(
