i'm guessing she didn't need the math course :joke: but she might be one of those that can't fill it all the way sometimes and that is giving her different mpg every time she checks it. mine sometimes is 34 mpg and other times 28.5 mpg. not sure I drive it that much harder or if I do that many more hills, but it isn't constantly the same!:thumbup:Most average 30-31 mpg.
How many mpg? Set a tripmeter to zero at fill up. Always fill up to the same level--most do it to about a quarter inch below the fill ring. Divide the total miles driven by the number of gallons it takes to refill. It will take a few fill ups to develop a pattern. Example: drove 150 miles between fillup. Took 5.3 gallons to fill. 150/5.3 = 28.3 mpg.

right on with the not assuming too much these days!!!:thumbup:These days, I try not to assume much. I gave my answer based on the information given by by OP.
the 09 RS I had did 25 in town/36 HWYMine varies a lot. If I'm running interstate speeds at low elevation it's around 30, at higher elevation (5000+ ft) at 55 mph I will get over 40 mpg. 35 mph twisties at elevation it gets around 35.
