Motorweek does Spyder!

Just watching the Motorweek episode that Tivo'd this morning and there was the Spyder! Compared it to that other funny little three-wheeler thing... Spyder definitely looked like more fun (I may be just a little bit prejudiced), even though they compared it to cars as far as gas mileage and price.

The episode is on again tomorrow morning at 7 on Speed. I've got my DVR set to record it. Thanks for the heads up. :2thumbs:

That's about the most neutral report I've seen from Motorweek, noticed a couple of typos; if the MP3 has 106 hp, I want one! and the mpg shown is for the 250, the 500 gets around 50. The cost of the MP3 puts it at the top of the price range for most scoots, for 9 grand, I'll buy a bike.

Now guys, be careful! You never know who's reading this forum -- like me!! :chat:

I've got a Spyder on order :2excited:, and my current ride is a MP3 250, which I've had since April, 2007. I had trouble holding it up at a standstill (weighs 450 lbs.) so about a month ago, we added a Tow-Pac Mini-Trike kit.

My husband has a 2008 Harley Street Glide and we also have a Goldwing with a Hannigan trike conversion, so we pretty much cover all the bases!

I know, we're crazy! :joke:

That's very cool, Jo Anne! You and your husband have some very nice rides! I find the Piaggio MP3 500 fascinating. So much so, in fact, that I spent a large portion of this morning reading up on it more. And, watching some cool vids, too. For the money, I think it's pretty cool. The closest dealer to me is Nashville. That wouldn't really give me much of a warm and cozy. That's about 180 miles east of me. But, after my research earlier today, I think I have more of a liking for the MP3 500 than I previously did. I still have not seen one in person, though.

HA! HA! You're not alone! :agree: I don't think many people have seen one on the road -- I never have!

We draw crowds wherever we go, so much so that we can't get where we're going sometimes! No one asks my poor hubby about his beautiful Harley, but the crowd around my MP3 with hundreds of questions! I also get lots of pictures taken, not of me, but of the scooter. It's even crazier since we put the Tow-Pac on it!

It's for sale, by the way! Here's the listing: http://stlouis.craigslist.org/mcy/847433309.html

I wasn't saying the bike was stupid, I was saying driving it 110 mph was stupid:2thumbs:

I rode behind an MP3 during our company ride last weekend - it sure was different looking - it was fun to watch the front tires lean when it was in curves. My friend at work had one but she turned it back in - she had problems at stops w/ it - felt heavy to her for holding up.

Hey stranger!!!

Got your email!! How cool is THAT!!?? :2excited:

Will reply privately, but it was great to hear from you. I picked Tiffany's Spyder up in Detroit and rode it home on my birthday in July. It's Premier #3530 (I think!!). She took me over to pick up my Wing from service this morning. If you think you got looks on the MP3.......in the words of Nicholson as the Joker...."wait'll they getta a load of me". You'll be a rock star. Be careful...the most dangerous part of the bike is the morons that nearly run over you to get a look.

We'll have to see about meeting somewhere in between sometime soon!

Hi BJ !

Figured you'd be surprised! I know I AM!!!

I already have crazies taking pictures of my MP3/Tow-Pac as they drive by! I had one guy hanging out his window while he was driving, to get a better look! NUTS!

In the meantime, if you know anyone looking for a scooter, send them our way!

Jo Anne
