It was real Mike. That actually happened believe it or not. Five camera angles were set up. If you have ever been to a motorcycle/stunt show you will know this is not impossible. Crazy yea.

Yeah, I reckon :agree: with Mike!

I can't see how, if that bike isn't still on an upward trajectory in that pic (& the way it's hanging below the rider suggests strongly that it's not!) that there's any way he made it over the top of even the lowest bit of that almost vertical cutting face in front of him!! And I doubt that anyone'd be able to land on the cutting face & ride on, let alone leave the scene via anything but an Ambulance!! And when you look at the vid itself, follow the shadow of the bike & rider as it leaves the ramp & crosses the road - there's a bit of a glitch in there that is not right, & from there the shadow going over the road doesn't quite co-incide with what the bike is supposedly doing... and besides, all the published footage very carefully cuts away from the landing site & actual landing & run-off.... What, they did all that jump ramp prep & did NO landing ramp prep?! Just before the footage is cut, it looks like they didn't even bother to clear all the bushes outta the way....

As for the 5 camera angles thing - have you seen what they can do with digitising these days?? The technology to mix & merge real footage taken from a variety of sources & events in a way to produce convincing vids of otherwise 'impossible stunts' & even showing them from numerous angles is fairly readily available these days - hey, it doesn't even cost all that much anymore!! So yeah, while he may well have made a jump of that size/length somewhere, from what footage we've seen & the way it's been edited, there's enough doubt raised by that 'slick editing' & minor discrepancies to suggest that he didn't actually jump the freeway...

If you watch the video, he isn't landing on the highest portion of the hill. He is landing in the lower portion of picture on the lower hill. Totally doable.

Just up the highway from me. Caltrans has destroyed the approach ramp and CHP is looking for the rider.

Don't think either are very happy but, it's California, so a judge might find it acceptable behavior. nojoke

I would hope the cops would have better things to do than to go after silly things like this... especially the real estate ad guy. Please... the guy was a professional and knows what he's doing. What may seem extreme to many is a walk in the park to one of these guys.

God forbid they ever see video of some of us Spyder Huligans tearing it up.

Hell, we used to close the road down in front of Cowtown during the first few Spyderfests and drag race. Cops showed up once just as we shut it down.. funny thing is the police chief was already there... in attendance.... lol

But you've got to admit that it is entirely possible that a startled motorist could do something drastically wrong; if faced with the sight of a flying motorcycle, where a helicopter or airlplane might seem more reasonable.
My own experience: Back in 1994, we have a REAL Winter here. The snowbanks alongside our office reached right up to the roof.
As a snowmobiler: this naturally was seen as a direct challenge, so I launched my 1992 Polaris XCR "520" at them from the side opposite the roadway.
As popped out on top, I saw an approaching car seemingly drop it's bumper right onto the roadway in an attempt to get stopped.
I had REALLY startled them, and it could have caused an accident...Lesson Learned!
