• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just returned fm the javitz center in NY,the motorcycle show.If Can Am wants top sell the spyder they better get more qualified personell to show their wares.i found the people there most unenthusiastic about selling the spyder and the new models on display. Some of the current spyder owners at the show were most helpful and responsive than the reps for CanAm.I spent 30 mins. w/ a disabled motorcycle enthusiast who was very interested in the spyder but had some reservatoins about it(steering issues, mods ,avail.access,.etc).It was great to talk to other potential spyder owners and share my personal experiences with and about my spyder. At less than 2yrs ownership and over 250000 mis.,I'm happy to promote the spyder and find new happy owners. The rt and rs are great additions to the spyder line. The display was great and the models were all there but the tech advice and the salesmanship were ,in my opinion,POOR!How about letting TRUE spyder owners show up at these events and sell the spyder?I'm sure there are more qualified people on this site that would do a bettere job at promoting the spyder than the factory hacks i've met at these events. Many women were asking for info on the spyders specifics and differenences vs.conventinal motorocycles and i felt that the reps. blew them off.I carry my personal photos of my spyder and my mods to show eveyone and sometimes it really makes an impression that show how versitlile the machine really is.I'm sad to say that this the second time I've been to one of these events and found CanAm to have a poor showing.Anyone have thoughts abour this?HAPPY SPYDER OWNER AND THANKS TO LEDGEWOOD POWERSPORTS FOR MAKING IT THAT WAY!:dontknow:

I was there on Friday and Saturday and yes you are very right about all the reps at the show did not know much about the Spyder's. I spend a lot of time there explaining to many who came over to the Can Am display and were not getting answers to some very common questions, the only thing I saw was all the sale reps were more interested in giving out there business card and tell everyone to come down for a test ride and were not giving good help/answers to a lot of question that were asked of them. If I was a potential buyer and went to the display to get answers to question that I had I would have left not knowing anymore that I did when I went there. BRP definitely need to made sure there reps are trained to answer question much better than these did or as jarhd3 said to put owner there who would have done a much better job. I also had a postcard size printout showing my spyder and the mods so far and met 4 people who is looking to buy and was very glad they came up on me as I was able to give them much better answer that the reps did, we even exchanged email info so we could chat more on the spyder I even got a nice complement from a Honda factory rep ( a real factory rep) that was looking at the white RS and told me if his Honda guys knew as much as I did about the spyder he would be sold out even before the bikes hit the show room. BRP did a very poor job at this show trying to get more people interested in a Can Am Spyder.

There was a dealership with the Spyders at the IMS in Washington D.C. Most of the reps were nice but didn't have the knowledge of the bike that many here possess...there were tons of people gawking and playing with the RT-S...yet, I cannot say that many were gettting the attention they needed to seal a deal on a purchase...many were very interested in the bike, esp. the guys with their wives (the wives were saying that they'd get on the RT-S as it was comfortable and had a lot of creature features)...

They had the white RS there...looked nice...too much like a police vehicle for my taste...didn't have the blue one...drats!

IMS show in Greenville SC

I attended the IMS show in Greenville SC but BRP/Can Am did not attend as an OEM however they rented space for a few of their dealers in the Greenville area. Fortunately these folks were knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their products. They did a good job and had lots of people in the booth throughout the weekend.

There is nothing worse for a product than what you experienced in New York. BRP/Can Am might want to consider sending people out to the shows who are totally unknown and disconnected from Can Am to visit the shows. They could find out how well their product is being represented. Unfortunately I have witnessed the same problem with sales people representing other manufacturers. Pushing demo rides is great idea but if they can't put them on a demo ride today they need to work on generating the enthusiasm in future buyers while they are standing in front of them and the new machines.

These shows really generate a lot of interest and have a tremendous amount of traffic. It’s a shame not to take full advantage of the opportunity. Hopefully Can Am will see your comment on the New York show and try to correct the problem new year.

I would gladly "work" a show for BRP for some spyder stuff "bling", etc.:2thumbs:

I was at the NYC show last year and again this year. I was totally unimpressed with the people working the booth but I did persue my interest last year and bought my Spyder last April. For me, those shows are only to see what's out there and then go to the dealers. This year the place was so packed, it was ridiculous. I did get to sit on an RT and check it out. Very nice!!

me too

Last year i met magicman and patty at nyc show we had the same reaction we all had more knowledge than the reps their don't get me wrong they are a group of nice guys but. And i dont even have one i always do my homework before buying plus you can learn alot right here!

I was at the NY show on Friday, and got a chance to see the RT up close for the 1st time. I tried to ask a lot of questions while I was there, but the reps just didn't seem to be interested in talking. I did chat to a few folks there and told them to come check out this sight. Hopefully a few of them find the way to this great site!
