I push the jack under the spyder so the back rail of the lift is under the rear end of the center rail. Lamonster has a blog showing that where the rearward rail lines up with the front peg/footboard support. The safety release bar just barely touches the lower deflector when I do this.
Once I jack the Spyder I place 3 ton jack stands under the front A Arms as close to the wheels as possible, and under the rear shock mount. My jack stands have the rubber caps to protect the bikes finish. Once the spyder is solid on the jack stands, I lower and remove the lift. Then I do the oil change using standard oil pans. I do have one of the FloTool 16 quart oil pan collectors. So I collect my used oil over several changes before recycling it at the local WalMart.
