• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Motorcycle Dave here with a Drivers License question

Coming to New Jersey only requires funding the DMV when transferring your license/registration. No tests (which is scary because they let my 91 y/o F-in-L transfer - not even an eye test!).

I moved from Nevada to Washington state in early 2024.
Washington will accept transfer of either a 2 wheel or 3 wheel license endorsement but not both.
I kept my 2 wheel endorsement and took a riding course to get a new 3 wheel endorsement.

Ditto in Louisiana

Old thread 👌 Don’t forget the plethora of good cuisine around here as well.

Pic failed so: "Say what you will about the South, but no one retires & moves up North."

The license itself should be fine, unfortunately however, I have heard (unverified) horror stories about vehicle registrations/titles, military or not. Especially at renewal time; & then there's just crap roads, dodging pot holes, road kill, idiots, &/or drunks. All in over abundance!

As many of you from all over the good ole USA please chime in.....
Lets say I decided to move from California or any other state and
I possess a valid drivers license AND have the motorcycle endorsement
that has been in effect for years, which means I can ride any motorcycle
of any size or any 3 wheeled vehicle, such as a Spyder-or a 3 wheel Harley
or other 3 wheeled rig... when you go to the local DMV to get your License
for that state do you have to take some kind of a test to see if you can ride
even if you have been riding with a valid Motorcycle License for years in your
home state.
Just wondering.....
Thanks
Dave

Hi, Dave! We just renew and the MC endorsement carries over. (MN) Don't know about coming in - been here 40+ years.

We do have a varying period every spring of sand, etc. in the. corners until the first raging downpour.

I checked as deeply as NC DMV would allow because the motorcycle handbook is so old. Straight drivers license is virtually automatic, but the motorcycle endorsement requires a written and an off-street skill test. I let my VA motorcycle license laps back in the 70s and took the MSF basic course to refresh myself and get a break on insurance, and if you pass that, you show the completion card and don't have to take the off-street skill test.
