Tonight's news just had a report of a new product called Blusnap. It is "air conditioning" for motorcycles made in India by a new company called Bluarmor. Battery powered "swamp cooler" type device that snaps on to the helmet and blows cool air into a full face helmet. Cost is $29.00. Looks reasonable. Any body seen it.....?

Thanks for the link. I'm too old to know how to do that. Looks like a useful product for those of us in the hot zone. Also looks like it could be used with my flip face helmet. We need one of our sponsors to start carrying these.....?

I would think so, Bob, but these were invented in India.

If it helped keep my sinuses from drying out it might be worth the bulky contraption.

The entrosys system I'm sure would be effective for cooling the body core. I remember a thread about that last year.

Good to know about these various solutions to the overheating issue.

Their website doesn't really support that notion. I'm talking about the helmet accessory one.

Another option for cooling

There are a couple of great options all dependent on price point, end goal of cooling and transport of the "infrastructure" part.

In the past I have used a cool suit - vest and head gear with a small Camelback like pouch and small battery powered pump. Some thing like UltraChiller is small and compact enough but I cannot speak to the "will it cool until the next gas station so I can recharge with ice" question. Others that have a longer chill time usually require a cooler (think small Coleman-type cooler). I do not know if you have that kind of room to give up or if $1 K is too much to spend.

I have a cheap option that works wonders - vented jacket with ice packs. I have also found I thin pack that I can wear between my lid and head. I usually carry a small soft sided cooler so it nothing to carry along a few additional packs - and they keep my drinks cold too. As long as you have air going through the jacket and helmet - the cool gets to your skin and the heat diminishes.

I use a cooling jacket that is no longer made but works quite well if you can find an alternative. You fill it with water and it evaporates with time and keeps your core cool. Much cooler. Much much cooler.

Mine has a goretex liner which keeps you dry but if you cant find one like that an ordinary cooler vest might work for you. They work!!!
