I was watching it live and couldn't believe my eyes. Truly horrific to watch. On the day of Dan Weldon's funeral no less. Just tragic in both cases.
Sic always had this issue of pushing too hard on cold tires and I think this may have been the case here as well. He was battling with Bautista and all of a sudden you see him lose the front which started the low-side. But he should have just let the bike go; instead he tried to save it with his knees/elbow. The rear re-gained traction but the front was lost and just shot the bike back into the racing line. Bautista barely missed him; Colin and Valentino, who were battling side -by-side simply had nowhere to go. You could tell by both of their reactions that they knew. Colin just looked dazed. I have a feeling they are going to have nightmares about this one for a while. It's just a darned shame. I think that with some timie Sic was going to be a star for sure.
RIP Marco, you will be missed. Kind of makes the last race almost irrelevant now. But I will watch, albiet with a heavy heart.
my bro asked if I had see the race and I said no, he said I should watch it asap, I did and holy, there is risk in racing and he pasted doing what he loved,a warriors death. Too bad that it happened, you could see that nothing could be done by either rider behind him. RIP
