MOTO GP starts this weekend, anyone else watch this

you sir did your homework and I owe you a dollar for this prediction.

well played sir, well played.

I did have a feeling that Simoncelli would be in the fight but thought that it would take a few races for him to be competitive. Rossi was way off the pace, but cant imagine him sitting on his laurels.

Off to Spain!!!

Yes it was a good race but it could have been better if Speed would just air the race without all the extra commentary. :gaah: With Greg Cramer rattaling on 60 minutes just isn't enough time. I wish they would give it 90 minutes for the broadcast. Then we could get more before race info and the complete after race festivities. It will never happen because of all the nascrap they schedule. :banghead: Ok, I'm backing away from the keyboard now. :chill:

I have solved that problem by subscribing to Motogp.com. No commercials, no crap. I can watch the race later if I miss it, and its in HD.

Of course, speed allows you to watch AMA, and WSBK but I am not as interested in those as I am with Moto GP.

is it worth the $150? I would really like to have it but that is kinda steep for a poor public employee who would watch the **** out of it.

I really like it because you dont have to worry about recording it or anything and I can watch it whenever and wherever I want. You also have access to race archives from years back. There are no commercials and you can rewind and fast forward all you want.

Personally I think it is worth it.

well I will go off your word on this, there was a 1 euro for a month deal that was kinda sketchy but I will throw down to see if its awesome . I would gladly put 70 bucks down a year but 150 is way above that.

Well you were right about Stoner crashing out...:(

Indeed, even though he did have significant help! I still can't believe Rossi went for that lame move. There was no way he could have pulled that off, even if it were dry; He charged from too far back. I just don't know what he was thinking to do something like that in the wet at that early stage of the race. It sets the stage for the next few races though. Shakes up the points too!

Very good race all in all. The pace was much quicker than I thought it was gong to be!

I have watched the replay over and over and even though it was an aggressive move, Rossi is usually really good riding in the rain. His front tire just slipped from under him and down they went.

I think it was 50/50,. Half dumb/ over-agressive move, half plain accident.
Stoner was clearly pissed though.

How about Simoncelli actually leading the race at one point? I knew this guy was going to be a contender. My prediction was once again almost spot on. :D

I know, you and Seth are good man! I am still bringing myself up to speed with Moto GP. Up to this season it has always been very casual viewing, but this year I want to get know the riders, the tracks, delve into some history etc. I have certainly enjoyed the first two rounds and it looks like the championship will be very competitive and hard fought. These riders are a joy to watch. The skill just blows my mind!

It was a very entertaining race. Even though Rossi had that bad moment he still really showed off his skill. I know there were a lot of drop out but the fact that he got back to 5th was good. I think if would have made it past Stoner he would have ended up winning or second at worst. He is still a force to reconded with and if they get the Ducs worked out, look out! :D

I agree. The Ducati's have had front end chatter problems for a while. Last year Stoner was running on his 2009 forks and still had trouble handling the bike, and it looks like they are still having front end issues. Once they get that fixed, they could do some damage.

However, now that Pedrosa has has his shoulder surgery, his endurance will improve, and if he continues to get the incredible starts he is known for....watch out. He will be a front runner every race. The next race in Portugal is a little less than a month away, so he has plenty of time to recuperate.

The Honda's are just so strong this year with Stoner, Pedrosa, Dovizioso, and Simoncelli.

HRC ehh, they are strong again and I could not believe that Simoncelli, the clown ginger that he was doing that well, and to have Haden get 3rd was ridiculous. But that is the way it goes, I think rossi would have won as well, he was kicking ass just risked when he did not need to.

Exactly. Rossi was on the hunt and would have eventually passed him. He just had to be more patient.

The best was what Stoner told him in the paddocks after the race. Rossi went to his paddock to apologise, and with about 10 cameras recording this, Stoner tells him " Obviously your ambition outweighs your talent".

:roflblack:

that is a great line, IMHO Rossi is the best motorcycle rider on the planet, I just think he gets bored or being injured are the two things that trip him up.

Round Three... WOW!

What a race on Sunday in Portugal. Strong run for Lorenzo again, but Dani Pedrosa ran a masterful race, just biding his time until the proper moment and then pounced! Too bad for Simoncelli, though. A nasty high-side adventure on lap one, but it looks like he escaped serious injury. The Moto2 race was very good as well. Very very good stuff!

Yes, It was an awesome display of patience by Pedrosa. He even ran his fastest laps after passing Lorenzo with 5 laps to go. Great riding by Dovizioso as well passing Rossi for fourth with a photo finish type ending!!

Its Simoncelli's second highside in three races after being at the front of the pack both times...He was third this race and 1st in Jerez when he was sent flying...:(

It seems like he gets nervous when put in a situation of very close quarters. It certainly could not be lack of focus. I'm sure he'll get it sorted out. If it happens again it might start to get into his head and then he'll be in trouble. But like Seth said, these guys are the BEST so he'll sort it out.

And now we have to wait another whole week for... LE MANS!

One thing I wish we could see is more bikes on the grid. But the new rules for 2012 may just facilitate that, which would be way cool. What do you guys think of the new 1000cc prototypes? I need to learn more, but at first glance they seem to be just incredible. I guess the new Bridgestone tyres are coming along nicely too. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, it looks like it's gonna!
