Moto-Blog: Finding comfort riding your Spyder RT and my experiences

So I like doing Vblogging or chatting about stuff while taking the ride into work.
I like to share my experiences hoping it might help someone.

Do you guys and gals like this kind of thing? Or should I stick to posting this on facebook?

__________________________

Today on my ride into work, I talk about my experiences, riding comfort, and what I did to make my Spyder RT comfortable to ride long distances.

Realize everyone is different! And this is what I talk about. These are my experiences so your mileage may vary.

Hoping what I learned can be useful to someone :)

Enjoy,
Bob

I found it to be rather interesting as I have similar issues, I have added the comfort seat with rider backrest, tri-axis handlebars which I love. Do not have extra pegs just the standard floorboards the RTS came with, and am seriously looking at the Airhawk R to help with the distance Butt issues. Thanks for an informative blog.

Hi, I do recommend trying the Air Hawk R. You almost cannot go wrong as the company offers a 30 day trial.
If it does not work for you, you can return it no questions asked.

Just remember what I said in the video. It's not about how much air you have in it. It's about how much you do not.
So it does take several attempts of changing air pressure to find what works for you.

It took me almost 2 weeks of trail and error to find what I liked. Again the biggest mistake was starting out with too much air in it.

Also thank you for your comment about the blog.
I enjoy doing them and I am glad you got something out of it :)

By the way, love your trunk decals! Very nice and classy looking.

A real nice explanation of how you got your Spyder to fit...:thumbup:
I noticed a lot of head movement: low and right... Checking your mirror? :dontknow: :2thumbs:

Yep... always! Paying attention to your surroundings is all about safe riding.

BTW you will notice I sometimes take my hand off the left grip. I am a big 2 finger waver and out here it is almost common practice from everyone. So that is why you see me doing that.

I like em. I like your "how to's" better though. Your route to work is a bit boring, (I hate 4 lane roads) but I get it, you're killin time to and from work with a beneficial blog for folks to pick up some info.....it's all good.

I find your technical videos most informative, even if I'll never be at your level of farklizing.

Over here in the UK Spyders (All models have had low sales but have now started to pick up)

Due to limited information I use this forum and have followed a motor blog by Shawn Smoak

see link

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=shawn+smoak

He has some great motor blogs on different bikes with a lot on the Spyders (All models including the F3)

These Motor Blogs are great and if you join in with your view of the Spyder World as well it will benefit all of us I am sure

Thanks for posting - Ive already seen you one on the Tri Axis handlebar shake excellent warning for those that have them fitted

Your tech ones are also very good - So if you don't mind - Keep them coming

Thanks

Exactly why I quickly find forums when I get a new bike

Thanks, thanks, thanks, Whenever I get a new style bike, I find forums like this and read and study threads. My 2015 RT-s addressed so many issues that my 59 year old body and knees were dealing with on two wheels. The fit, finish, motor, tranny, features and comfort blew me away when I test rode it. Truly the most amazing and best matched motor, tranny and suspension I have ever ridden. I tell fellow riders this is my Magic Carpet Ride.
1. early in your vid a cycle passes you and splits lanes between two vehicles on a double yellow. Is that leagle where you are riding?
2. The air hawk R is the only model that applies to our cycle seat. The other cheaper models are plastic and easily develop leaks with use. Every cycle forum talks about buy this seat or buy that seat but the Air Hawk R has been the only deal changer for my last four cycles. Getting the air just right is the magic and for me, not mounting it in a fixed position is critical. On a long ride I regulary lift my butt and slide the cushion a little forward or a little back as this drastically changes riding postions and pressure points while riding. When I gas up I will throw it in my luggage and go a couple hundred miles without it. The Best thing this cushion does is while sitting on it with the proper air in it, is to roll your butt cheeks from side to side. As the air transfers from pocket to pocket, it's like a massage. I do this butt rocking constanly while riding.
3. at 5'9" the bars are just right for me and my shoulders and I don't expect any lock down there.
4. Your commments on highway pegs and backrest are spot on. I have the non adjsutable oem backrest which is working well at the moment. Having good highway peg locations offers critical riding changes especially for my arthritic left knee which is toast from 45 years of MX racing and crashing.
Keep it coming.
