There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. We have a stock 2015 RT Limited. I have nothing against the stock windshield (25", I think) but we would like it to be about 4 inches shorter. Does someone sell a bolt on windhield like this befor I get out a saw? Recommendations would be appreciated

Thanks.

F-4 and Cal-Sci also will sell you a shorter windshield.
(But if my 10th Anniversary RT-L comes with the "Shorite" screen: I'd be interested in a swap! :D)

I love my shorty windshield. I think they are 16 1/2 inches tall. Only time I raise it is when its raining and it makes most of the rain go over me.

Okay Bam Bam. You mentioned a shorty windshield at 16.5 inches. Sounds good. Did you buy this or make it? Thanks

F4 shorty

I got a shorty from F4 Customs and saved my stock windshield with the GL1800 vent in it thinking I might swap them out once in a while. But I will never put the stock shield back on. The F4 is so easy to clean I love it. You can use glass cleaner and paper towels without fear of scratching it and if I raise it all the way up it is as high as I would ever want it.

Shorter Windshield

I highly recommend 7Jurock (www.7JuRock.com) .... they have 21", 23", and 25" sizes, theirs is 4 inches wider than stock. In addition, you can call and have them add a recurve "flip" to the top edge. This is a true remove old, change hardware, and bolt back on -- fits like a glove. Installed mine on Friday and took first ride with it today .... wow! What a difference, can lower it to look over (except right in front of me) and the "flip" means I have a wonderful air pocket behind the windshield with little to no buffeting. Even better, get it adjusted just right and the end of the air pocket goes straight down my back (without buffeting my helmet) -- instant air conditioning with a gentle dip of the chin! :doorag:

Here's a couple of pics (sorry about the bugs and dust, just got back from 235 miles).

This is the BRP shorty windshield. A member had one and was looking to sell his on the for sale or buy page. I got mine for $80. Post that you want to buy one on the page and you will probably get a few people answering you back. Some people don't want to feel the wind in their face and look to sell them pretty quickly. I am really enjoying mine. Check the link below. From a couple of months ago but I don't see that it has been sold.

Cal-Sci???? There were a lot of post about them in 2012. Seems like they used the 2010/2011 windshields as their template. Anybody currently using one on a 1330 RT??????

We haven't heard much from them recently...
There shouldn't be much of a difference between putting their shield on a 998, or a 1330: all of the important bodywork (and airflow) should be the same. :dontknow:

Okay, just got back from a three day trip with the new F4 windhield (20 inch). Worked fine. Exactly what I wanted.

I broke my rule about working on the bikes right before trip, but I'm glad I did. No rain yet, but I think it will be fine.

Are they still in business?

I have been trying to get in touch with these folks with no success...do you know if they are still selling these?:gaah:

Ann,
While looking at their order sheet: I didn't see a way to ask for the "flip" that you have referred to.
Is that simply a standard item, or would we need to call in the order?

I'm looking to hear from anyone with experience with this manufacturer in the last few years. They seem to be the only ones that guarantee elimination of buffeting and backdraft.
