There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Mono Seat Cowl

I was looking at Lamontsters Spyder, and it looks like he has something covering the back part of the seat. Am I wrong? Is that the Mono Seat Cowl that he has on, or is it the Sport Rack?

Does somebody have any pictures of the Seat Cowl and the Sport Rack installed on their Spyder? I would love to see it. Thanks.

that is correct Derwin. The Mono seat cowl covers the second seat and give the bike a little more body color. I have one on order for my Spyder and I will gladly send your pics when I get it this next week.

That was exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks!

I agree with you guys....That thing really adds a lot to the Spyder. Definately a "must-have" for me.

Thanks again for your help.

Derwin.....I think you have mentioned in previous threads that you were interested in the new Corbin seat.....it would be interesting to ask if anyone who has the Corbin seat has had any problems with the BRP mono seat cowl fitting over it???If you have followed all the previous threads on the seat cowl you will remember there are some attachment mods that folks have had to do !!

Actually, I don't think I want to get the Corbin seats anymore. I think the mono seat cowl makes the bike look fantastic, and I wouldn't want to change that. Besides, I don't want to take the chance of getting "cement" seats from Corbin, as many have suggested. I'll just stick with the stock seat for Spyder.

I do have the Corbin saddle bags on order, though. I know that's an item that you either love or hate, depending on your personal taste. I am among those that think they look great.

Lamonster,

Could you please post your fix to the mono seat cover bungee cords? I understand that there is also a fix to prevent it from rubbing paint off the tail section.

I decided to order the one the was on eBay. Thanks!

My VFR has a rear seat cowl.........as far as I know they rub on EVERY bike, the solution has been to put some clear film from 3m on the spots that rub, others have used clear silicone dots to keep it slightly raised off the paint..This is not really a fault of BRP it is the nature of moving parts caused by bumps, potholes and the like. for example my goldwing trunk rubbed as well......the solution in that case was weather stripping.

cowl... passenger seat.. cover or whatever

I would like to find out the easy way of removing and especially replaceing the passenger, sport cover, on the spyder.

Those BRP engineers, did a fantasic job on the bike, but the idoit who designed the manner in which to install and/or remove the passenger seat cover must have been on drugs.. Those hard to get at rubber bands to attach to the seat cover underside slots is a royal pain in the arse.

I have said mine now, say yours, and tell me what an idiot I am in not knowing how to easily remove and replace.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... to the time it took, sore hands and temper...

I agree effgjamis. Had my Spyder a little over a week now installed and removed the seat cowl three times in that week and one of my bands is already about to tear where the ball goes into the slot that holds it...aside from doing what Lamontster did I guess I will have to get a bag of those bands and replace them as they break? I dont ride passengers that often anyway. I guess we cant expect perfection in every aspect of a new machine but its seems this could have been done a little better huh?

Lamonster: DUH,,, I see the underside, but I am not sure the attachment to the cowl..

Would you please show a bit more for this ole man ?

Thanks

Dang rubbers broke.

I don't have any other pics right now but all I did is attach the bungees to the cowl and then loop it to the screws.
