• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

MOGANG< How is the mileage calculated for the farthest rider to Spyderfest?

I was wondering how you guys decide who rode the farthest? Pin to Pin (Bird flight) would not be accurate. Our trip from Oregon/Washington thru southern California came in at nearly 2,700 miles. By the time we get to Pa and back to Oregon, we expect to have ridden 6,500+ miles.

Two years ago I rode my BMW coast to coast (6,000+ miles one way) but the prize went to to a guy from Washington state because the pin to pin distance was farther. I rode 6,000 miles to be the the rally and 2,300 miles riding direct to get home.

Just wondering.

I'm just up the road at Kansas City, and it's about 180 miles from home to Pitbull's....but we had to bring more than the SPyder could carry, so we brought the pickup, too...do we get to double it?? :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Who Goes The Farthest to Spyderfest??

If I were to go I would get the farthest Pin to Pin ! Miles Point to Point... From Vietnam to Hong Kong up the Eastern sea board of China over Japan then across just south of Alaska. Then down the Western Seaboard of Canada to San Francisco. Change planes and back to Portland Ore. Bus to Salem then on my Spyder and boogie it to Spyderfest!!

Since I am not heading that way this year...... I do Agree with BMYLarry about miles traveled, But is that fare to pin to pin?

I vote that there should be 2 different catigories. Pin to Pin and DOCUMENTED miles on your Spyder. This way there can be more winners!! But aren't we all winners by rydyng a :spyder2:

IMO: it should be documented miles, rather than pin to pin. Some people combine additional jaunts with their trips to Spyderfest.

If you are going purist, then pin to pin from start location to Spyderfest. That makes the playing field more even. Mileages from pin to pin can be found by consulting various travel logs.

Good luck!

I'll throw a "yes" in just for the effort that's involved...
Pete, I'll PM about the shirt... Thanks
