• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Missing Dust Cap

I was washing the Spyder a couple weekends ago and I kept bumping the plastic cap over the front axle nut and it was falling off. I doesn't actually snap on very tight to begin with. I noticed the other day I am missing the right cap and the axle nut is exposed. Is there a seal behind there to keep dust and water out of the bearings?
I know Lamonster sells the IPS caps (very nice looking) and they spin with the axle. How do they keep out dust & moisture?

Yeah I noticed the other day on my 13STS that the right cap had fallen off. Not sure if it really needs to be replaced or not.

Dust cap

I had the same problem with dust caps and used some 3M black weatherstrip adhesive to hold them on. They can still be removed.

Gone

I sometimes walk the line of spyders at lunch or rest stops to see if I can find any with both caps still one...it is very rare...I did spring for the Lamonster caps and face the challenge of getting them on straight. Look down at them spinning with a wobble but have never lost one....

It's funny what you tend to look at. When looking at other ST's. I look to see if the lower side panels are on correctly. Less than half are. Often the owners complain about a hot foot or feet and think that's normal.
