• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2010 rs 10000 mi. new plugs, baha ron wires, exaust y pipe seals. still starts to missfire ,backfire after rideing for about 2 hours let set for one hour runs fine for anouther hour or so any sugestions dealer not much help

Several possibilities. A decent tech could be a help. First, look at the plug wires to be sure the terminals are properly in place and the connections are tight. It is easy to get one that doesn't seat, resulting in a gap that reduces spark intensity (or stops it altogether). That gap can get larger when things heat up. Look at the hot engine running in the darke for signs of spark jump. Unlikely with the BajaRon wires, but anything is possible. Check the plugs to find which cylinder is the culprit, or to identify a super lean condition that could be the cause. In that case look at the fuel system for the cause. Other possibilities...weak coil, bad ECM, valves too tight, burnt valve.

miss firing issue

I live in TN and had the same miss firing issue when I went to FL for bike week last year. Took to dealer in Ocala they replaced plugs & put another juice box on it thinking it was the fuel delivery system. Left dealer and within an hour had the same issues. Next day it drove fine all the way to Daytona and after riding around in stop and go traffic had exact same miss firing issue. Took to dealer in Daytona Beach & spent 1/2 day @ shop & was told nothing was wrong. Rode home to TN and took bike to Mountain motor sports and they said sounds like gas is boiling in the tank from exhaust running under tank. Had tank removed and had Moose heat shield put on bottom of tank and had exhaust pipes wrapped from exhaust to muffler. So far that has fixed problem. Had no issues last summer here in TN. Hope this helps with your issue and let us know if this helps or if you find a different solution.

As already stated, It can be several things giving you this issue. As far as the new wires, it is possible to not push the terminals down far enough on the Spark Plugs which can give you varying results but usually ends up with a good miss. The terminals I use for those wires are a Race terminal which actually has a spring clamp that keeps the terminal squeezed tightly against the spark plug at all times.

This is a great improvement over the standard terminals which can lose their bonding ability after awhile. But it does take more pressure to get these terminals to snap onto the spark plug.

This is the only issue that I have so far encountered with my wire sets and it has been with only a few customers.

Looking inside your engine compartment with the engine running in the dark (especially with it missing) will greatly aid in confirming or at least eliminating the wires as the problem.

Good luck and let us know what the final fix is.

I might be wrong but if I'm reading the OP's post right,
He had the backfiring Before he changed the plugs and wires,.:dontknow:

Could have been bad plugs and wires, which an improper install of new wires would give him the same issue. It is a bit odd that it only starts after an hour. This does not sound like a ignition wire issue. But since it is easy to eliminate the wires as the cause. He might do well to start there.

misfire

my 2011 RTs had a slight misfire which I ignored until it got worse and I got the orange screen and limp home mode notice. The code it sent then was P2279. I had all the updates done at 6000 miles so I called a dealer and spoke to a service tech. He said I could bring it in but first check the 2 small vacuum hoses connected to the bottom of the TB on the left side. One was cracked and the other was split and leaking. Replaced them both and the problem went away. Visited the dealer a few days later and they told me the misfire could have been related to the vacuum hoses getting bad. You might want to check these to make sure that the heat above the engine has not caused them to deteriorate.

:agree: The heat related wrinkle sounds more like a bad coil, or possibly a valve issue...but it pays to check the easy stuff first.

I had the a problem like that and it was the MAP/TEMP sencor. My tech at the dealer found it and replaced it under warranty.
