Minor yet vital observation from my demo ride RE: F3 mirrors

One thing I forgot to add a little thing to my demo ride review-- http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?79388-I-rode-the-F3!

The F3's mirrors are excellent right out of the gate. Considering one of the first purchases I made on my RS was to fix the useless mirrors with aftermarket mirror extensions, it was a pleasure to be able to easily see behind me and to the sides with the stock F3 mirrors. I can't recall a bike with OEM mirrors that I *didn't* want to replace, so kudos to the BRP engineer working those ergos. :thumbup:

I agree....but...

I still think you need a more wide-angle mirror in addition to the OEM because as with every vehicle, there are blind spots. My solution was to install stick-on "Maxi-View mirrors". They are small and I installed them on the mirror stem (not on the mirror) just below the OEM mirrors...they work great. The only thing that might sneak up on me now would be a helicopter. Just saying'.....

I'll be taking some other pics tomorrow. I'll try to remember to post one of the mirrors here.

Every vehicle I have ever owned had stick on spot mirrors. No blind spots

The one thing that catches me every once and a while is that ( I think ) objects ARE closer than they appear. That may just be a difference from my GS and ST-S mirrors. :dontknow:

Yup, definitely always stick on the little mirrors, all my rides get them. But that's $5 to make the F3 mirrors better, versus $80+ to make the RS ones usable.

Bob, I *always* trust my mirrors-- to tell me when it ISN'T safe to go! I never change lanes without a head check, but the mirrors at least tell me when not to even bother, i.e. time to choose an alternative course of action.

Plus, my head doesn't turn 180 degrees around except when I'm possessed :joke:, so seeing *behind me* at a stoplight lets me know when the guy behind me ain't stopping.

Defintly true. I got my lesson, with close call.
Objects are much closer than they appear in mirror

I agree about the mirrors! I took a demo ride this past Sunday, 1st thing I will add is a Blue Ridge windshield!! I loved the ride!!!!:yes:
