• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

miles this year for smashed up ppl

Bought the:spyder2: in February. Didn't ride until April. Then went for a knee replacement the second time on the same leg:yikes:. Was out of commision for two months. Now it has 4800 miles on it. Too cold to ride now.
Will give her many miles next summer. Have a few trips planned, that is if the LORD lets me. Maybe I will see you on some of the planed trips.

Hope the second knee replacement does the job. You've done some great miles for what you were dealing with.

Will be looking for Mr. Woodchuck in Cuba and Lamont's BBQ.

Picked up the bike on July 31st and spent most of August getting the hand brake and floorboards done before getting on for some short rides and leaving
the chair in the garage. Got the chair rack done in Sept. and rode the 100
miles to North Platte to get the DPS changed. Total miles so far is 1400 and
its getting cold here but there may be another 50 degree weekend yet. Great
to be riding again after 5 years.

Just got my RT-S on August 25, but have managed to put over 4,000 miles on it in less than four months so far. :D Can't wait for 2011 - gonna get down on some IronButt ryding now that I'm retired!

trying to see how the smashed up have been doing on putting miles on, I am at 49,423 for total miles right now, on my third motor. Going to the salt flats again on august 27th, going to get back to drag racing again next week.

Setho, tell us why you're on your third motor please?

cause brp needs to make forged pistons, they melt and the piston rings fly out or into the motor.

I also needed a full rebuild after spyderfest last year with a broken front sproket bolt.

Setho, I don't, know if an anurisium stroke counts for being smashed up, but I never thought I would ride in the wind untill the spyder came along. I met you at Spyderfest. You are an insperation to me. I am trying to fix me some floorboards so i can get on and off easier. [bad balance]

..brp? they I do not think want ppl like me and they way I drive representing them.

Seth, if I were BRP's publicity director, you would be the posterchild of what the Spyder can do. I can see the TV advertisement now...

1. The horizon of the Bonneville Salt flats in the heat of the day...
2. Something is coming...
3. An abandoned wheelchair on its side...
4. A vehicle is approaching at high speed in a cloud of dust...
5. A mouth that slowly turns into a large grin...
6. A Spider flies past in a deafening roar...
7. (Insert BRP logo here)

miles on the clock

Hey Seth!! Made it to the BBQ Yesterday... 337.3 miles round trip from my house in SC to Lamont's ... so now, so far almost 6K... 6734 would be 6000 miles for me and the 'Bird.... Mother Nature has made the Big Bird name a true name for the Spyder... Had a bird build a nest in my work area, in the open pocket of the CD/Radio player, laid eggs,5 of 'em, and they hatched. I've tried to not to disturb them... hoping that they survive...
Missed you at the BBQ, but it still was a blast... a survey of his yard yielded a count of 175 spyders, +- the ones that sneak in and sneak out...lol
hope to see you soon, Glenn:shemademe_smilie:nojoke
