I got one of these just for the hell of it. I'm surprised how well it actually is made. I used self tapping sheet metal screws (2) on ALL joints. The cover is like their tarps, but hopefully the heavy duty ones. The reviews had mostly positive things about it. Obviously, it wouldn't handle a heavy snow load. If you had the warning/time you could sweep the snow off from below. This is the best price that I have seen on them. I think this is good thru July.

I plan to use the "nails" that they include into the asphalt driveway to keep it in place.

I have the old one that they used to sell that is 12x20 (or 24 I can't remember). If this one is like that one it is a very good deal.

pps: After we found it: we could only salvage the tarp. The framework was twisted like a bunch of pretzels! :gaah:

I think that the other key is to screw all of the joints together, this really stiffens things up.

We have one of these from HF, use it to store our trailers and some stuff and occasionally a Spyder when the space in the garage is being used for something else. It has lasted over a year, there is starting to be some wear along one side - I think I didn't keep the tent material taught. And yes, it is anchored well...

I found a used Shelterlogic 12x20x8 unit that sold originally $1400 and put it beside the HF unit. Of course no comparison, BUT what I realized is that by adding a few cross members to the HF unit, you could really stiffen it up. I plan on working on that tomorrow.

I already have used sheet metal screws to secure each joint (all joints are bolted in the shelterlogic unit) Looks to me that using 1/2 or 3/4" conduit, flatten each end and screw or bolt at 45 degree angles between each supporting piece, it would make it a lot sturdier. OR you could use cable and turn buckles making X runs would also work.
