• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

UtahPete, Yea William and I have been PM and Emailing about all his settings, I think it's gotta be his att.net mail account somehow.

I have selected automatic emails response. I did update my email in settings. I receive email responses in 2 other forums. Thanks, Mike
You are referring to Forum Actions/General Settings, right? If that's where you have automatic emails selected then there is only one of two things that I can think of. You have checked and do have your email address correctly entered in your profile, right? It's very easy to make a mistake with it. That is under Forum Actions/Edit Profile. If the preceding two items are correctly set then the only thing left is your email provider. Sometimes a provider will discard all emails from a particular IP address range if that range includes identified spammers. Contact your email provider. Also send a PM to Lamont and ask him to check if he is getting any bounce back messages from your email address. Try using a different email address and see if that fixes it. I've had to do that once or twice myself for a comic strip service.

Well, I changed my email to my Gmail and I still haven't received and notifications. When I did it I did not realize the I needed to read and click on the email at the gmail addy to use the forum and I thought I was locked out but I discovered it and now I am back on but still no notifications. Thanks, Mike

PM to Lamont is the only option left as I see it. Try another email, even if you have to create one at Yahoo or somewhere. I've seen at least one case where Gmail rejected mail for no good reason.

I just sent you a PM with another idea.

Thanks, I just got an automatic response from the list and from a pm. Thanks again, I hope the mystery is solved and can help someone else down the line. Mike

Easy Rider, I have it working correctly with the instant email, going to my Gmail account that I have and use on all devices, I do have a Mail filter setup to auto mark them as read and labeled as SL so I can click and find them easily.

I use the What's New? button more often than not when I don't have any subscriptions. But the email notices DO work, except for Williams ATT.Net account for some reason.

No offense intended but it seems that you have the solution right there; just use what works. ;)

The account that it does not work for might be sending it to a "spam trap" or something similar.

And the "Quick links", "Subscribed threads" button will show you what's new in your subscribed threads (only).
Very useful.
