• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I guess that a winning ticket was sold in Maryland... Good for them! :ohyea: :firstplace:
Oh well; it's best that I have to get up on Monday and be back in the salt mines... I do my best with guidance and a strict routine... :roflblack:

I guess the biggest Spyder gathering ever--which would have been held in Alaska will not be held next year--I did not win. Sorry.

I have a cousin who defied all odds and won 1.1M once and about 1M a second time.
That's the good news (yeah I know 640M is about 320 times better than what they won)

The bad news is that today, 25 years after The Wins (as our family calls it) these folks are destitute.
Yep.
Strange but both my cousin & her husband continued to work, didn't do anything outwardly stupid but today their house, cars & toys have been sold at a Sheriff's Sale.

Too bad, I know.
And of course nobody would make those mistakes....
sure.

Strangely, my relative's plight is far from unusual, it's the norm.
So, some consolation if you aren't the winner.

Yeah, I've seen shows about lotto winners and the majority end up flat broke within 20 years. Sad. As they say...money can't buy happiness.

Yes, unfortunately, that situation is the norm versus keeping the money long term. The thing about winning such a large amount is if you're having trouble with day-to-day finances when you 'win' the lottery, large money will evaporate also.

You have to be prudent about it and make smart choices. Get a tax lawyer, keep the winnings a secret until you have the money idea in place, try to live a normal life as much as possible. Once you get the money, make sure you have somehow secured it to where you're limited to how much you can spend per year.

Make a provision to "spend" like you did win (within reason) because you, after all, did win (for those who actually played and won). Then go back to being normal. Try to remember who you are and how you were BEFORE the money came into play.

Stepping down off soapbox..LOL

Sorry to hear about your cousins. That's really sad news. :(

Teddy n I didn't win either

But, Amazingly we had 2 or 3 locals in our area that DID Win the $250,000  I'm almost glad that we don't know them tho nojoke

I won!

I wanted everyone to know that you can win this thing, I won and am excited to go get my winnings $10 though it took $20 to win it. Um wait a second, it turns out that I may not have truely "won" but I have a spyder, so there's that.

I was really hoping to win so I didn't have to go back to work today. :barf:

I was on vacation for 10 days. I was hoping I never had to go back...... Sigh.......

I've kept it Hush-Hush long enough,Yep I drove down to Maryland and popped my 5 bucks down and I won it all!!!! Very Cool.

My brother, sister and I rented a "small" house in Key Largo. its for sale for 1.5m. I was hopin to win the mega so we wouldnt have to leave....looks like we will be headed back to NY April 7th...:(

Large sums of money can make people do bad or crazy things. I guess I should consider myself to be one of the lucky ones. :roflblack:

I remember the tale about an Australian opal miner who wom around 14M Aussie pounds...he gave all his friends money and in 24 hours, he was broke again....!!!
