Meet Up for May? June? July?

I have not been able to get anything going for May for Georgia Spyder Riders. The wife changed jobs, I have been sick, etc. I was thinking of trying to set up meeting at the state park in Cordele on the 23rd, but its probably too short of notice. We could still meet up somewhere for lunch and a ride after if you want. Maybe something around Helen or Cleveland? Then we can go south in late June or early July? Let me know what you think??

Mike:

We are leaving for Montgomery AL on the 27th for a few days and that will most likely be the extent of our travels until later this year.

We have to leave time to ride the horses and go kayaking.

I'm planning to be in the Montgomery, AL area on May 31. At this point don't know if I will be on the Spyder or not? There is a Glock Match that weekend.

I'll be heading out the third week of June to hit Spyder Jam on the way to the BRP Owner's event in Durango, CO? I'm pretty much free before that. June 7th is the World Wide Flash Mob XI event but that will only last 15 minutes. It happens all over this planet at the same time.

South in late June or July? Can you say HOT, HOT, HOT:yikes::yikes:. Maybe a trip to the mountains.

You bring up a good point DaisyJoe. Maybe we table the Cordele meetup until the fall. Looks like most people are busy this month and early next month. I have a graduation to go to out of town on the 23rd. I will (hopefully) going to Colorado for the owner's event as well. Maybe something early June? What do you think about Helen, GA?

Set it up Mike. I'll try to make it where ever, when ever.

BikerDoc, is there a link to a thread where you guys are talking about meeting places, eating, etc? I will not be able to meet up with you guys due to it being weekdays. Others may like to meet up with you guys though!!

Edit: I see there is a weekend in that period, I read it wrong. Let us know.

Main info on Mountain Cruise is at www.centralflorida.spyderryderofamerica.com and general discussion at www.facebook.com/groups/sracfl

we ride as far north as lake city or jacksonville routinely but last week for instance rode to Myrtle Beach. We would love to hook up with the Georgia Ryders some time.. We are heavy into fund raising and riding for Bikers for Babies March of Dimes event in Jacksonville Fl Sept 20th and hope some of you folks might consider joining us there for a great law escorted ride...

Yeah, just post a reminder in our section. Sounds like a worthwhile event!!!

I'm a SRA member, Tennessee Valley Chapter out of Birmingham, AL. I haven't done much with them lately other than my laser alignment a couple of months ago in AL.
They had a ride a couple of weeks ago, but I was at SpyderFest. Venom in Vandiver won't happen this year. I was disappointed to hear that. Something is planned for 2015 I'm told, with Lamont and possibly BRP? Sort of a SpyderFest type thing?

Can we have a simple dinner get together like we did on March 16 at McAllister's Deli or Buckner's March 30th?

Doc, does the group have any plans for rides/departures on the 24 or 25th, live fairly close to Helen and would ride up to meet & tag along, others in North GA might too?
Thanks

My travel plans may change this next month. I have been looking off and on at purchasing a new home. There were certain things I was wanting. In my search for over a year, I've come to realize what I've been wanting does not exist in N. GA that I could find?

I did find something that has a lot of things but not all. I never in a million years thought I would want to live in a mobile home. But what comes with it is making it OK.
I've been wanting a place to be able to work on my Spyder that did not require it not raining because I have to tinker on it outside. Same for my truck and other transportation items.

This place comes with a nice garage. It has two separate bays each with two roll up doors. Insulated with heat and air. I think now we may be able to have place to have laser alignments? I have talked about it with Greg Cain who was involved with Lamont and the laser parties held over in Alabama some months ago.

It will take several months for me to transition from Marietta to North of Menlo, GA on Lookout Mountain.

The closing is June 12th.

So, it looks like I maybe only going to Spyder Jam and then heading back home. I have an appointment with the Cowtown to see if they can figure out the wackiness of my Spyder. I've had the transmission light come on nine times since getting it back. Brake failure twice. The local dealer also killed two Gorilla Bike Alarms and I think my trailer module. And there are other issues.

There will be a party in the near future once I get settled in. Spyders get premium parking.
Oh yea, I got that Ford tractor too. Not sure if it runs or not?

My husband and I just returned from a Memorial Weekend trip from Stone Mountain to SC, NC, TN, VA, KY. I am going to try to get a little write up together with all of the pictures we took... we'll see how long that takes :)

We are always down for a ride. Unfortunately I doubt it will be this weekend. I noticed that my rear tire lasted me only 14,000 (the first 14,000 on this bike actually) and it needs to be replaced before I can go out again. It has a very strange wear on it, too.

Anyhow! I agree with daisy, any get together is going to be Hot Hot Hot so the farther north, the better!

If we get up early enough we love to head up to Highlands, Cashiers and our favorite picnic spot in Glenville, NC.

I will keep looking at this thread for potential rides in hopes of meeting you all soon.

14000 miles is unusually good wear for a Spyder rear tire. And if your unusual wear pattern is worn to the purple right in the middle of the tire then that is also normal

Interesting - my husband said it was unusual, and that many people he had seen posting had gotten 23k out of theirs!

The wear pattern is definitely in the middle, of course that is normal. However, (picture this as looking at the rear tire, on the bike, straight on) there are some spots where I have pretty much zero tread left, and some spots where there is still tread, alternating around the bike. Did that make sense? Why did my tread not wear evenly in the middle? And not just mildly, but very unevenly... :dontknow:

My read tire had the same wierd wear patterns too as yours. I put a Kumho on there as a replacement and have been happy so far.

Good to know I'm not the only one! Can you link me to the Kumho you put on it? The dealer had one tire in stock for me, I believe it is the same one that is already on there. My husband mentioned the Kumho today but I didn't think much of it after the dealer said they had one for $159. Hoping it lasts just as long as the first one. :)

I got mine at Discount Tire. I had Hazel and Darcy in Maysville help me put it on.
Here is what I found looking on the Internet.
